Fantastic attention to detail by the Big 12 crew.  :D

If there are things you guys didn't hear from Strong in the press conference that you would like to know please let us know.

Also if there are things you want to know from Espinosa, Cedric Reed, Quandre Diggs or Malcolm Brown let us know.

Aaron, prob not the forum for y'all to ask the question today, but the AAS is reporting 4 players suspended from entering Moncrief.  Can you dig and see if you can get some more info on that?

STRONG has arrived and we are going to #LetsRide..........HOOK'EM  &  OU SUCKS

Posted yesterday on the day 1 media day thread but no response. Why does everyone feel K State will be so good, or at least better than Texas in the Big 12? They seem to get a lot of love to place third in the conference by media types. Just not seeing this, Texas beat them last year with Ash in the locker room for most of the game. Yes, they have Snyder but I'm tired of hearing that angle. Aren't they replacing a lot of starters for a mediocre team from last season?

1-It's all about perception. Kansas State put a beat down on a mediocre Michigan team in the bowl game and that seemed to start the momentum (reminds me a lot of OU beating Bama).  Kansas State went 6-1 to finish the season so that's another calling card of the media. The problem is Kansas State lost to the only good team they played in the final 7 games, OU. They beat two decent teams in Michigan and Tech, but those teams certainly weren't great teams last year. Kansas State went 6-1 down the stretch because they played WV, Kansas, Iowa State and TCU.

2-I agree with you. Not really sure why people think Kansas State's QB is all of sudden the second coming of Jesus. Their QB was below average last year, but I guess they think he's going to be drastically improved. Kansas State also lost their starting RB who was productive and are having to make some drastic changes on the offensive line. They have an amazing receiver in Lockett but that's essentially their offense IMO. Kansas State also lost a couple very productive players on defense. I don't understand the hype. I think they finish around where they did last year 8-5 or 9-4.

Just wondering if Patterson finds yet another reason to keep Fields on the TCU football team. Time to man up and finally make a grown up decision and let this THUG hit the road. History has shown he is bad news and will continue to be violent and a bad seed. I wonder how Lon it takes for him to land in jail. Lots of incidents in which no charges are filed, lucky him.

When he said Swoopes needs to develop as a person, that sounds like he has some serious issues. Any guess or examples of how he needs to develop as a person?

KSU being picked 3rd is 50% based on them and 50% based on the league.

As was mentioned, KSU finished well over the 2nd half. Yes, it was against the bottom half of the league, but after losing to a Div II team in the first game of the season, KSU finishing well in the 2nd half says a lot about them improving as a team. They did lose some key pieces off that team, but they return several good-great players and have multiple top tier newcomers (mostly JUCO).

Add all that up and then contrast it to the rest of the league. Better said, KSU should go a minimum of 4-2/5-1 against the bottom half of the league (WVU, KU, ISU, TCU, TxT, OkStU).If the Wildcats only do that, they should finish ahead of those 6 teams.

Ranking them 3rd instead of 4th is easy. Texas is a complete unknown and was all over the ballot.

I didn't read into the comment. That's simply how Strong talks about young men. He'll comment on their development as a player AFTER they develop/mature as a person. It's just him/his nature.

IMO, drgilbert.. it seems that coach strong is referring to swoope's self confidence factor.  if you take a glance, and i do mean just a glance at tyrone swoopes.. he comes across as the consumate athlete.  however, should you take a really good look at swoopes, you shall start to realize that this player is a bit on the shy side.  therefore, i am thinking that this is what coach strong is referencing, upon speaking of of tyrone developing as a person.  tyrone, just needs to undergo a further maturation process.  he shall need to become a bit more self confident upon himself as well as his athletic abilities.
