If the Big 12 does not expand at the same time that Big10 and Sec do then we will not remain as a top conference. The way the leaves are turing, there will be 4 super conferences, just a matter of time. We need to be proactive and get some teams that expand Big12 footprint and not sit in 19th century. I dont care if you dont want a title game, its not your choice anymore.
VT and either UNC/NC St to Sec. UVA and either GT, UNC, NC St to Big 10.
We must go get Fsu and probably Clemson and maybe Louisville. If GT gets left out of Big 10, that is the 2nd team after Fsu in terms of importance.
Expansion will not be to 14, either 12 or more likely 16 bc B1G and Sec will be at 16.
Big12 is 3rd in terms of attractive destination for free agent teams, Pac being 4th based solely on geography.

I have not heard much about the Big 12 maintaining a sense of urgency when it comes to adding teams but the Maryland/Rutgers move to Big 10 is huge for that cvonference. The Big 10 tv network can accommodate these schools nicely in terms of revenue and the conference is feeding the monster. They will be extremely viable even with the addition of 2 poor football and basketball schools. It's all about the numbers and the markets.
Problem with the Big 12 waiting is they lose the opportunity to add teams that can enhance the strength of the conference. The ACC teams are looking for a place to jump to now and we need to strategize , listen and court. I don't think the Big 12 will ever not have a place in the superconference -sphere, but we don't want to add 6 doormat teams just to get to 16.
