Big 12 Basketball Tournament Bracket

Looking at Tech's record this year they haven't won a game away from home. They are 0-2 on a neutral court and 0-10 in away games.

UT RPI currently 43. Tech currently 177. Tell me again why some of all were rooting for this to happen? Seems like nothing to gain and everything to lose.

😳

Because another win gets us to 20 wins. Almost all the bracketologists have agreed we need a win in the Big 12 tournament to make the NCAA tournament. RPI, SOS, top 50 wins all matter. So does your record to a certain extent, we need 20 wins to feel somewhat comfortable. Getting that extra win also makes our conference record look a little bit better.

Like I said in the previous thread, if we can't beat Tech we don't deserve to make the tournament. There's nothing to lose here if you ask me. If we can't beat Tech we were going to lose in the first round anyways. Matter of fact, if we don't beat Tech that just expedites the process for Barnes to be fired. Win win if you ask me.

They agree we need a win because a loss to #177 is a death blow, not because it gives us 20.

Hopefully it's all moot. The atmosphere for the late game in a half empty arena will likely be lame. Would be nice to have a fast start and not give them any hope.

i hope everybody saying 'we're definitely in' is right. saw something on another site listing some 'what ifs' in conference tournaments that could push us out. bottom line, we want all the favorites to win out an not have an upstart or fellow bubble team (like IU or ucla) win their tourney.

First bubble game of the day, Michigan vs Illinois. A must win game for Illinois and they are down 40-23 at the half. Wow, talk about not showing up in an important game. Looks like the bubble is about to get smaller.

Anybody saying Texas is definitely in is only looking at UT & not taking into account that selection is a dynamic process. There are too many other team in play for selection at this point to definitively state whether or not Texas makes the tournament.

Michigan up 23 on Illinois, this is over. The bubble is about to get smaller. Talk about laying an egg.

Jerry Palm and Lunardi still have Texas on the bubble despite the win last night.

Our good friends at USA Today have the Longhorns in the tourney as a #10 seed.

Wow, A&M chokes away another big lead at the half and loses to Auburn. The bubble just got smaller. Billy Kennedy is a terrible coach. How do you lose to 3 non-tournament teams at the end of the season like that?

Middle Tennessee also beats Old Dominion. Another bubble burst.

Pretty good day so far for Texas. Illinois, A&M and Old Dominion with horrible losses.
