I just noticed a post linked to Twitter with the title of "Best Cheap Beer in the World." Here is their list and it's in no particular order.....
Lionshead Deluxe Pilsner....Price 60 cents a pop..One such beer is Lionshead Deluxe Pilsner. The name is a bit confusing because it's not really a pilsner at all; it's actually an American-style lager. Lionshead is brewed by Lion Brewery in Pennsylvania, and it's a popular drink at colleges in the Northeast.
Coors Extra Gold Lager...Price 50 cents a pop..It's suprising that this beer isn't on more store shelves. Coors Extra Gold Lager is a surprisingly tasty and drinkable choice considering it's Coors budget beer. This American-style lager has a sweet, corny taste and a clean finish that makes it easier to down than most other beers in the same price range.
Miller High Life...Price 60 cents a pop...If you're looking for something inoffensive that will please a large crowd, then Miller High Life is the beer for you. This basic American lager is called "the champagne of beers" for it's bubbly nature and crisp finish. High Life has a sweet and grainy taste, and it's very easy to find
Steel Reserve 211...Price 50 cents a pop...Steel Reserve is an American malt liquor that's surprisingly good and very affordable. You're paying bottom basement prices for a drink that has 8.1% alcohol by volume, which makes it the best bang for your buck outside of straight liquor. While this "high gravity lager" puts off a strong smell, it's actually very drinkable and even has a slightly sweet aftertaste.
Pabst Blue Ribbon...PBR's Price 50 cents a pop...Good beer and a trash night favorite in a lot of bars..A personal favorite of yours truly..
Simpler Times Pilsner...Unless you shop at Trader Joes, then you've probably never heard of Simpler Times before. This budget beer is brewed by the Minhas Craft Brewery, and you'll be able to pick up a six pack for just $4. Choose the pilsner instead of the lager version, as this German-styled pilsner has a pleasant malty complexion and flavor. At such a cheap price, you might find yourself shopping at Trader Joes more often.
Yuengling Traditional Lager...Yuengling Traditional Lager is an American amber lager that serves as a great alternative to typical cheap beers. Yuengling puts off a sweet smell, but it actually has a slightly hoppy flavor and a pleasantly unique aftertaste. For the best possible taste, choose Yuengling in cans instead of bottles. Expect to spend about $0.90 per can.
Rolling Rock Extra Pale...Rolling Rock isn't for everyone, as it has a fairly neutral smell and flavor. This American-style lager is very crisp and light, and it runs at about $1 per bottle. This is honestly the best budget beer for people that don't like beer. Just make sure to store Rolling Rock in a dark place, as the light-green bottles are prone to skunking.
Bud Light Golden Wheat...Blue Moon and other citrus-flavored brew have become extremely popular in recent years, but most of them are on the expensive side. Bud Light Golden Wheat is a perfectly acceptable addition to the spiced beer category, and it's priced an affordable cost of around $0.75 per bottle. The wheat and citrus flavors make this beer drinkable and even downright enjoyable.
Session Black Lager...This cheap beer might be hard to find, but lovers of craft beer should hunt down a case of this "Schwarzbier" (black beer). Session Black Lager is made by the Full Sail Brewery in Oregon, and it's available in many different states across the country. This dark beer has a slightly chocolatey flavor similar to a porter, but the body is light and carbonated. You shouldn't pay more than $1 per bottle of this drinkable brew
