1. I'm talking about Applewhite's performance as a player, not a coach
2. He didn't "get away with it" because he was put on probation, had his salary frozen for a year +, and was passed over for the OC job by Harsin

I'd say his infidelity cost him dearly, at least short term. I hope Major gets a 2nd chance because he's a helluva recruiter and probably a better coach than Mack allowed him to be.

JimR, I am not in any way defending him for having sex with a coed. I just thought he performed better on the field overall than Simms did.

But I have watched games from the field and gazed into players' eyes. The lasting memory I have of Simms was his panic on the goal line against OU.

If you were half the "insider" you want people to think, you'd know that we had far worse on our team during the Mack era . .. .. . 

Ironically you are no better than the cultists you bemoan who trash Simms at every turn. . . . 

Personally I save my ire for his parents who undermined Mack at every turn and their sad synchophants (sadly some jock sniffing BMDs) but do us a favor and stop trashing TEXAS players with innuendo . ..
