Or the Prius, depending on who you ask.....  Let's take a quick look at David Ash as Texas QB.....

David Ash ranks 8th all time on the Texas career passing yards list.  QB's (1-7) that have more passing yards than Ash:

  • Colt McCoy
  • Major Applewhite
  • James Brown
  • Pete Gardere
  • Chris Simms
  • Vince Young
  • Bret Stafford
#8 DAVID ASH

Players 9-12 that rank behind Ash in career passing yards at Texas:

  • Shea Morenz
  • Case McCoy
  • Garrett Gilbert
  • Bobby Layne
In his first 12 games played at Texas, Ash' stats were as follows:

Attempts Completion Percentage Yards TD Interceptions Rating

151 85 56.3 937 3 8 104.4

Stats for his last 15 games played at QB:

Attempts Completion Percentage Yards TD Interceptions Rating

428 281 65.7 3601 27 10 152.5

Until the head injuries last season Ash was progressing at an impressive rate. In his last 16 starts he was 12-4 and looking back to 2012, his last full season of playing healthy, he performed - particularly in the 4th quarter of games (he was ranked 2nd nationally in passing efficiency in the 4th qrtr in 2012).

The concussions derailed Ash but he is picking back up where he left off in 2012. If he stays healthy he has a chance to finish what would be a really nice career at QB at The University of Texas.
