Baylor running thread.

Just read the withheld money will be held in escrow. Money would still be awarded to baylor if the outcome of the pending revoew/audit is deemed a positive by the league.

So BU gets the money back if they prove that their Title IX department is up to code and they're taking women's safety seriously. I guess that's fair.

Just the game the suits in the B12 play to save face. At least to give the impression that they are putting baylor in time out. They'll probably still get their $ plus interest somewhere not too far down the road.

Right. 1/16th of their league in the second most populous state in the United States and the owners want to bar themselves from the state.

The NFL is a monopoly that gains most of its revenue from television contracts. The networks are allowed to pay these hefty TV contracts because the demand to watch the games allows the networks to ask a pretty penny from the companies that want to advertise their products during the games. In return for the hefty advertising fee that they pay, the companies that buy the advertising believe they have the leverage to have their political demands met. The networks pass these demands along to the league. This is where the entire thing breaks down. Why does the NFL kowtow to these advertisers and networks? Obviously money. But, like the Collin Kaepernick fiasco this season, the NFL is not consistent in their political activism. You notice nobody wants Kaepernick now. I wonder why? The NFL decision is even more cynical because it is not that they give a damn about your right not to show your respect during the national anthem, they simply don't want to be viewed as for anything that may be unpopular. If Coca Cola decided to pull all advertising from Cowboys games I guarandamntee you that another cola company would be happy to take their place.

Just caught the lasted minute of the Baylor women's game against Miss St. Kim Mulkey looked like a rodeo clown with all of the makeup she had plastered to her face. Oh, and Baylor lost. Good times.
