Lets be real here... We found some way to be tied at the half this past year DESPITE having one of the worst QBs that I have ever seen leading any team. God bless him and us for the two games he actually pretended to be a legitimate QB(v A&M and v OU). LITERALLY anybody else gives us a better chance at beating the Baylor bears. Truthfully I am not an Ash fan either but Case was a special kind of terrible QB. Last two games of his college career he threw 4 Ints. 2 v Baylor, one turned into a TD immediately. 2 pick 6's versus an Oregon team that we could have beaten which would have been huge for us recruiting wise! Case threw more TDs to Oregon than Mariotta did. Our D played a GREAT game v Oregon and nearly single handedly Case flushed as opportunity. Case racked up 21 completions on 57 attempts for a WHOPPING 110 yards and an added 4 Ints.
Apologies for my digression, I said all that to say... We have all the opportunity in the world to beat Baylor. We have a stable of stud RBs and if we can get even partially solid QB our potential skyrockets. Of course with that being our most dire concern we'll just have to wait and see how that plays out. Baylor will be good but even with the likes of Case leading our teams they didn't stomp us into the ground. IMHO that is. SOOO damn excited for this season. If the only thing that elevates is our intensity and toughness we are still a much better team.
I love Mack Brown like the grandfather I never had and will always love what he did for the program... But damn him for what he allowed to happen to our QB position(and all player development for that matter).
