#7 Florida beats Texas in Austin tonight, 84-71. Texas played the Gators tough, leading at halftime 39-36.

Swain led Texas scorers with 21 pts. (7 rbs) Matas had 12 pts (6 rbs), Mark had 15, and Pope had 14. Texas only got one 7 points from their bench.

Texas will travel to dead dog town on Saturday to take on aggy, at 3 p.m. at Reed Arena.

Man, Florida just beat our arse the 2nd half of the game. At one point in the 2nd half, it seemed they were blocking every other shot by the Horns! Friendly tip, pick Florida to go far in your bracket.

Due to early foul trouble on V and Swain, the Horns best 2 players rode the bench more than usual yet they still scored 14 and 11 points. Mark, with 23 points and Pope with 17 led the offense while Weaver helped lead the defense.

Another Quad 1 win today. This should put us into the dance at about 10. Beat OU and win a tourney game and we could be talking about a 9 seed.

We need to beat OU at home anyway. Losing to them would hurt us.

Next game is Arkie at their place. Don't see us winning that one.

Tuesday, Mar. 3 - at Arkansas
Mar. 7 - vs. Oklahoma

Arkansas will be playing without star Kevin Knox. Acuff is also trying to recover from an ankle injury but will play. They're down to about 7 players. Florida just beat them by 30+ points.

So this is a game I once thought was a probable loss but now looks like a toss-up. They're in a bind, but playing at home against a hated rival. Texas could win if Matas has a good night as Arkie is hurting on the inside right now.

IMO, it's possible Texas wins this one and then beats OU at home. Nice finish to the season and probably gets us to a 8 seed but hopefully a new 7 seed. This would be Texas' 8th Quad 1 win, before we even get to the SEC tourney.

Arkansas is good and we match up poorly with them. Same with Florida. I think we have a shot at beating anyone else in the SEC.

IMO, I think we're in already. I do agree we need to win to get the best positioning we can in the dance.

This was like a Nolan Richardson letting Tom Penders know who was the. Boss of the rivalry. We need to get more athletic at all positions to compete. Plus learn to want to compete and be competitive at a high level in this league.

arkie is probably a sweet 16 maybe get to top 8. Florida is a final 4 team. Tennessee is maybe a round of 32 team. We will be lucky to be able past of 64. Hopefully to round of 32.

If we lose to blow u, like last year than getting thru the opening 4 and the round of 64 would be awesome. To go from a bye round to the SEC tournament to needing 2 wins to keep from playing in the opening 4 games is big.

This team needs to quit needing ass chewings from coach Miller to get focused. Now we know why he keep saying they are basketball low IQ as players and a team that they are per coach Miller.

OTF saying Texas is either the leader or tied for the lead for 5-star 6'9" Forward Marcus Spears Jr. Of course, he is the son of former NFL star Marcus Spears. He is the nation's top prospect.

With a sister at Texas already (volleyball team), the family has been in Austin quite a bit.

North Carolina, Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Louisville, Houston and many others are also recruiting him.
