But Jalen Green’s G League salary was 500k and he didn’t have to sit through the Bard.   I don’t know what basketball NILs pay.
Not that I know who Jalen Green is nor that I care who he is. Him getting 500k and compare that to the Kansas State guard Pack just transferred to Miami got a package from Miami for 400k in NIL deals per some attorney that is doing deals for Miami that was interviewed by the guy the works for SI that did a story on the NIL deals.

So, grades could be a part of who goes to the minor league and those going to schools  and getting NIL deals. Plus both Tech and Duke just got 5* players to reclassify to come in this yr. Might start seeing kids doing more reclassifying to get money earlier.

Maybe so, but some of the one and done guys might decide to go G League. They can be on NBA payroll and get on Nike’s payroll too. The appeal would be no classes. It only applies to the top 5 or 6 recruits a year. Jalen Green was the number two pick in last years draft by Houston.

I knew last year going in that we would need to be patient with a group of guys who had never played together before. As it was, we didn't have enough time for the team to rise.

We still have a core from last year, unlike last year at this stage, so hopefully we can mesh early. The new PG has got me excited. It was the one piece we needed last year and now we have one, and a very good one at that.
Agreed. During a Texas game last season, I believe it was Lance Blanks that stated you can have great players but that doesn't make you a great team.

Welp, I'm a basketball season ticket holder once again...

Per 24/7 we are the 3rd place team post offseason power index. Only Baylor and Kansas have a better power index from the off season.  Now we get to see how well this team becomes better from last season.  I good thing os that we shouldn't have 2 or more guys that are not scorers on the floor this year. It will be a plus if Bishop has found a couple of moves down low to help score.

Have there been any updates on who will replace Maligi as assistant coach? It seems strange to me that we’re this far into the off-season, and summer practice, without a full coaching staff.

So, Morris was arrested early June. Like the 2nd or 3rd of June, but it was a misdemeanor domestic abuse charge. Only after the Frisco PD charged him with domestic abuse and he changed the story with the ex-girlfriend having a 3 inch abrasion along her neck from her bra.  The university and coach Beard are aware of the situation and have talked with the judge and police.  This is coming from Brian Davis or the Austin-American Settlements.  Not that I trust the AAS, but Brian is usually spot on with what is going on with the basketball team.

So, the schedule is out. Other than the game versus Illinois that is in NYC and the Tennessee game at Fake UT we are playing either at the moody center or  gym in all but 2 other games. The PAC12/BIG12 challenge in Dallas and one game in Edinburg,TX.   So, hopefully we are better suited to play and win at home.

Its a new gym. Gotta break in the hardwood.

Looks like MBB is going to play Stanford in the PAC12/BIG12 challenge in Dallas. Looks like WBB will play USC.
