We can debate if what is being said in the article but what thing that is clear the NATIONAL perception of everyone right now is that UT is a second tier university in regard to athletics and recruiting. This adds further credence to DocLonghorns thread about being worried about our brand. Our brand right now is not good and for whatever reason the national media has joined in to destroy us

Nobodies perception is framed by one article, especially a clown like Clay Travis. It's just that "perception". If Texas wins on the field who gives a damn what a troll like Clay Travis thinks. Winning is all that matters at the end of the day. This is how sports media works, and people like you feed right into it. They just want your clicks. Brings me back to all those articles being posted about "fire Augie" and "fire Barnes". I tell ya, I'm shocked that Clay Travis a SEC propagandist wrote a pro SEC article.

Didn't stop Texas from pulling in probably the top recruiting class in the country in baseball, didn't stop Texas from landing Myles Turner and Jordan Barnett, didn't stop the volleyball team from pulling in one of the best recruiting classes in the country, didn't stop the softball team from pulling in one of the best recruiting classes in the country, didn't stop the women's basketball team from pulling in one of it's best recruiting classes in decades, and so on. 

"Perception" is one of the most over hyped terms used in college athletics. Texas football recruiting is down because of a transition to a new coach and performance on the field. "Perception" will have no impact on recruiting if Texas wins on the field. Not sure why you are so worried about what others think of us? I honestly couldn't give two craps what Clay Travis thinks about us. The idea that "perception" is going to run Texas in the ground is such a farce and so overplayed. Win on the field and perception will mean absolutely nothing.

is that there is undoubtably a dubious and yet highly disturbing new trend circling upon the nation.. in regards to the UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS.  upon my most humble view,​

i find it reprehensible, not to mention sickening.  GOD only knows, that randolph duke and i have indeed quarreled in the past... big time.  however, i shall be more than happy to​

take my hat off to randolph.  this shall be in lieu, upon his undying assessment as per the inner workings happening at bellmont.  our great university's stellar reputation, that so very many​

have worked so hard for, as per so many decades... is now being slowly but surely torn to shreds.  this has been happening for a while, as per subtle nuances stemming from the national media​

vs hyper innuendo, as per our state's collegiate counterparts.  something has to be done quickly to stem this ravishing tide, before "perception" becomes the norm​

Look I hope we go 12-0 & and shock the world. However I do believe our football program is in a fragile state right now. I cannot remember another time where so much was riding on one season. I just do not think we can afford another 4 or 5 loss season.

Here's another newsflash. . .we can go 8-5 in 2014 and still be fine. . . .

#1 reason kids commit to schools is their relationships with the coaches. . .if we had kept Darrell Wyatt. . . Lodge would be a Horn. . .

CFS and staff are building strong relationships now. . .watch CFS flip one or 2 of the kids currently recruited to aggie or other places by signing day. . .which is 7 months away .. . there is a reason a kid like Poona Ford who could have gone pretty much anywhere, followed CFS to TEXAS.

Oh yeah .. .don't listen to the knot heads who claim the cupboard is bare .. . we've got loads of talent on this team. . . 

Another thing. . . we have some very skilled coaches on this staff .. . . now keeping Chambers over Wyatt wasn't the move I'd have made but Wyatt over played his hand and wanted to be the OC . ..wasn't happening. . . ..

CFS is building his team his way . . .

Barnes landed an outstanding recruiting class and basically has a year to show he can be different. . .

Don't look now but Augie, coming off a horrid year was one play away from the national title and had an AMAZING finish to his season. . .

Don't listen to the midol crowd. . .7 months from now they will be nothing but the butt of jokes for their Midol induced antics. .  .
