One of the great things Augie did was change the Alumni Game from a pro players only real game/event into a social weekend that includes guys like me who did not play professional baseball. Cliff G. ran off the great unwashed who peaked with college baseball, and Augie brought them back by making the entire weekend a fun and social event for all lettermen.

Besides being a QB he also threw 2 no-hitters for the baseball team.
