All Things Politics Thread

I dont have FB account I cant watch it.  Let me see if I can find it.

@DMAC, Trump's racist because of his blatant denial to denounce white supremacy. That really just happened. On live TV. Those groups are what they are and took his reluctance to denounce them as empowerment.
In fairness to Trump, he asked for a specific group that Wallace wanted him to condemn. Wallace did not respond.

But he also pointed out, and was right to do so, that its not right wingers burning down our cities.

Its kinda like asking about asthma research while your neighbor has Ebola.

I'd bet my life that if asked to denounce white supremacy you would without hesitation
You would still be alive.  I didnt see that part of the debate but I will find it on youtube and watch it.  I cant stand any hate group.  KKK or otherwise.  Its all trash.

I am just disgusted that people do not look at facts.  As soon as there is an incident involving the police and a black person, all the shit is thrown out the window.  How is that justice?  We live in a country where we are innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.  Social justice convicts and condemns based on emotions not facts and it damn sure isnt reasonable.  Social justice doesnt even wait for the investigation.  Thats not justice.

The standards don't change simply because the skin color does. Racist organizations come in all flavors and they're all disgusting. I wish we could be rid of them all but you can't legislate thought and you can't rid the world of evil.

Protests by BLM and ANTIFA turning into riots occurring all over our country.... burning down cities..... and the Democratic Convention doesn’t even mention it.... and no question to Biden about disavowing ANTIFA from the moderator?

The debate was a shit show and as an American I'm embarrassed. I've never been sold on Biden. And idk if Biden "won" as he avoided a few questions and like @DMAC said basically attacked when given the opportunity. And as feeble as it was Joe did attempt to make a statement encouraging us to get thru this together (unity). Trump was childish and a bully.  When he wasn't getting in his own way he actually made a couple of good points. As I've mentioned before, regardless of policy and economy, or covid and climate change, my issue with Trump has always been his refusal to reunite this nation (& make no bones about it, this nation is divided).  But guys, let's keep it a buck, what stood out in this debate was Trump blatantly refusing to denounce white supremacy. And as a proud black American, there's no longer anything that man can do to earn my support...

Here's my best shot at an unbiased opinion (from a Trump supporter):

That had to be the worst debate performance in American history:

Biden - contradicted his own numbers repeatedly in the same sentence.  Stumbled and bumbled around unable to make a coherent point.  Said he was against and for the Green New Deal in the same statement.  Said ANTIFA is not an organization.  Threw out random statistics and numbers all night that I (nor anyone else I wager) had any idea where they were coming from.  Reverted to name calling, “stupid, racist” and his “yak, yak, yak” moment was awkward on steroids!  Terrible performance that should have cost him any chance of getting elected.  Why it didn't I'll get to.

Wallace - An abomination of a performance.  Seemed happy to get in a chick fight with Trump when he was supposed to be an unbiased moderator.  ANTIFA is burning cities down, and the DNC just had a convention while it was happening and not one mention of it by Biden or anyone else.  Yet he feels compelled to NOT ask Biden about this?  But on the other hand does ask Trump to disavow white supremacy?  By the way, the "Proud Boys" (the group he was referencing) are not a white supremest group.  Which partially explains Trump's ridiculous answer.... which I will get to in a minute.  Finally, the Supreme Court issue is huge.... why is it huge?  Primarily because of the abortion issue - the holy grail for the DNC.  Also this is an issue in that the Democrats are very vulnerable.... a very small percentage of people are for partial birth abortion - the Democrat position.  How about just one question on this Mr. Wallace? Really.... not one question?  This isn't relevant??  Atrocious  job.

Trump - You talk about a blown opportunity.... I'm still trying to figure out what his strategy was?  It seems to me that having no regard for civility or rules of the debate is not going to win over a whole lot of voters.  If you believe that the Proud Boys are not a white supremacy group - how about going ahead and disavowing the white supremacists and then explaining it in a coherent way?  Even though it seems odd that Wallace thought this was an appropriate thing to ask - hit the softball!  I think it is very important that Trump win this election - but it would be nice if he did a little something to help himself!  He had a golden opportunity but instead of cashing in, he amplified every negative stereotype that exists about him.

Perhaps in the next debate, mute the person who is not speaking until it is their turn.  Then have them both on during the cross talk segment?

Overall this whole affair made me and I wager much of America blush.  What a sad event.
