Alabama vs. Aurburn: Best case for "Saban to Texas"

If Alabama wins out and goes to MNC, this would obviously present the longest wait for us to officially get what we want. So do we want Bama to NOT go to MNC?? I have been struggling with this for a while now.

I worry that a loss (and not going to MNC) would piss him off and fuel him to get it back (like that loss to aggy last year). Am I being ridiculous?

Another natty would seem like the ideal closure for Saban at Bama.

Thoughts?

I want Malzahn so whatever scenario needs to happen and that would seem to be Alabama winning. Saban probably wouldn't leave if they're in yet another MNC and Malzahn maybe wouldn't leave if he got past 'bama. I don't know who to root for, damnit!!

I honestly don't think it matters. I am of the belief the new coach is going to be a name we don't expect. Just like Patterson

Or maybe a name that we believe, right now, is to good to be true. We're Texas. Think Big.

I think there are lots of good options beyond Saban.

Im starting to look at Nick Saban like that absolute hot piece of tail you see at the end of the bar:

For the love of God take your run at it...

But dont screw around so long with it and come up dry that you miss this:

I'm starting to think you're right.

I don't know how long UT would wait but it sure seems the people that matter in the search are damn confident in saban. If it falls through #2 is anyone's guess.

Big to me is less than five names:

Saban

Meyer

Jim Harbaugh

Pete Carroll

Mike Tomlin and John Harbaugh are crap shoots I'm not willing to gamble on. I'm sorry your stressed about the tolls from NFL life, but we want someone that WANTS to be HERE, not someone that DOESN'T want to be somewhere else.

I get what you say but what if we hire Jim Harbaugh and durning his presser he tells us he he got tired of the NFL and just would rather be a college coach. Would that change your thought process. As long as it is a top tier coach I will assume that they want to be here and I'm not sure I care the reasons they don't want to be in their previous position.

I guess my thoughts with Mike Tomlin and John H. is that they haven't head-coached in college, right?

I would be ok with Jim bc he isn't that far removed from coaching college and may truly miss it. Nitpicking, I know.

This! I'm of the opinion that the current Wag the Dog campaign that is taking place is having its desired effect on the fanbase. Up is down, left is right.Saban 2014!
This!

I was actually hoping it would be Patterson after I read his bio back in Sept.

My second choice has changed several times but not my 1st...it is Saban and always will be...

Pretty much has been my thinking all along as well. I think it'll be someone not currently being mentioned much or at all. Somebody that gets hired and the majority of the fan base is scratching their head and saying "who? Damn, I didn't see that coming."
