As was mentioned earlier, he isn't easy to get along with. Hence why he hasn't stayed long at Wyoming or Utah. What you folks don't seem to realize is Wickline is of the same mold. He is a no nonsense, curse up a storm, gritty, and don't give a damn kind of guy. Most successful OL coaches have that kind of personality because their job is to motivate 19 year old 300 pounders to maul the other big human being opposite of them. Wickline also has left employers with a bad rep (OSU contract incident) and wasn't well liked during his short stint at Baylor. The holier than thou act is ludicrous to play in this instance.
As for Christensen's resume it is undeniably strong for a guy coaching at stops that generally aren't football powerhouses. The guy has been an OC for more than 15 years and had an All-Conference OL under his tutelage almost every year at Mizzou. He was the coach that instituted one of the first major balanced no huddle offenses that featured two TE looks. In 2007, the Mizzou offense placed 5 players on a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd team All-American list.
Christensen wasn't brought in to pander to momma's boys and get top talent, he was added to the staff so we can get the most out of the talent on campus. It is yet to been seen how much of the softness of our OL is attributed to the offense being ran. I'm interested to find out. Don't fall too far getting off your high horses.
