A Pre-Thanksgiving Update

Yea the roster looks good but not the coach.

How do you explain our defense still missing assignments at the end of the season?

Answer:

THREE YEARS OF CHARLIE

It says on his Wikipedia page, that he went to Cal Lutheran.
Interesting, but probably not a factor, that the current D coordinator for LSU was Herman's college roommate at Cal Lutheran. Heard that on the Aggie beat down telecast.

Really there's one reason to keep CS another year, and it is PR.  You cannot watch the product on the field and realistically see any hope of some kind of turn around, I don't care who is on the roster.  Do we really think the difference between 22 and 23 years of age makes that much difference?

If it is announced on Saturday, Sunday or Monday that CS will be returning as Head Coach for the University of Texas.  The reason will be that the decision makers don't want the kind of national reaction that Notre Dame received after firing Tyrone Willingham aimed at them.  You won't get that scrutiny after the magical "four season mark" that so many hold as the fair timeline for evaluating a college football coach.

Merry Christmas.... it's that season now!

Someone needs to inform Jim Harbaugh (20-4) and Tom Herman (22-3) they are not supposed to be winning so many games their first 2 years since it supposed to take 4-5 years.  B)

Totally disagree. Kids have literally gone from playing football at the next level to becoming draft pick based on 1 season of improvement...

Neither Harbaugh or Herman arrived at their respective schools, totally cleaned house and started, in essence, from scratch. Completely different circumstances...apples/oranges

All that cleaning house has led to what?

6-7, 5-7, and 5-7 after Strong said we would never lose 6 games in a single season again.

Herman has done more with a lot less.  Herman used a WR at QB last year.

Strong's team is poorly coached and has made poor decisions.  Surely you can see this.

Why havent we offered a kicker a scholarship since Strong took over.  Why is that?   This is a 3 year mistake.

Do you believe Strong is a better head coach than Harbaugh or Herman?   I dont think so.

Not having a place kicker has been one of many Strong disasters.

Herman at Houston hasn't done anything more than Strong did at UL. I don't see how Herman is an upgrade honestly. He's just as unproven as a head coach at a big school as Strong was 3 years ago. Heck Charlie's resume is a lot Strong(er) than Herman's and that can't be argued. Harbaugh, imo, is better than both...Dominguez (sp) was supposed to fix our kicking issues. He did not...

About the only thing I see that makes Charlie's resume stronger than Herman's is that he has more years as a head coach. And despite that fact, Herman has had as many winning seasons as Charlie has.

So, yea, it can be argued and rather easily.
