A few thoughts on posting info or deleting it

First I am not calling anyone out. Here are my thoughts

1. Posting info on a message board is not going to be the deciding factor if Saban comes. (If it is he was never seriously considering it anyway)

I guess if you believe this then I suppose here is how it goes down

Patterson: Hey Nick what is going on did you sign the contract yet we are all ready to go for the big announcement on January 6th.

Saban: No we need to talk about that

Patterson: What's the problem?

Saban: Well I am pissed some Longhorn website with 3800 members reported a few days ago that I was going to coach at Texas.

Patterson: What is the name of the site?

Saban: Hornsports

Patterson Never heard of them, so what's the big deal?

Saban: Well I will be blunt Steve I have decided to stay at Alabama because I cannot have some site with only 3800 members reporting what I am doing.

Patterson. Come on Nick this has been a done deal two times now.. Please don't do it to us again.

Saban.. Sorry Steve you can blame it on Hornsports..

Patterson: Well at least Mack is off the hook this time..

Its not this website that matters. It is the info from here that someone takes to OB, then Chip and Co. start digging for

info and then all of a sudden its mainstream.

If it got to someone in Belmont as Shaunsters is insinuating, then its past "just on Hornsports". Take that one tidbit and times it by Tigerdroppings, Texags, etc and it grows exponentially.

So you really think this would make Saban not come? If so he was never coming.. He is going to walk away from Millions because of a rumor on the internet? No way.. My guess he is never coming.. People just need someone to blame instead of themselves for getting caught up in the rumor hype.

For the record, I had my thread deleted yesterday - not because I feared what Nick Saban might do, but because I respect a friend who helps me out with this from time to time. Even though most of my info came from somewhere else, I am associated with him so the mere fact that I was speaking on it at the time, did not look good on him.

By then, we already had a main Saban thread from Hornsports so I thought my deleting my thread was no big deal.

Now, carry on.

Thanks for this post. I was actually wondering last night if maybe you had gotten your information from the same source as JS which is why you may have asked to delete the thread. Sounds like he may be getting similar info. from a different source which is a good thing.

I agree. It did get out of hand. How could anyone handle being asked 300 times a day are you going. It would drive anyone crazy. So it is now an unresolved question until around Jan. 6th,,,Then the question will be answered...Fisher or Malzahn.
