In this week's episode of the 4th and 5 Podcast, co-hosts Will Baizer and Mike Roach discuss Texas' newest commit Montrell Estell, the 3* ATH from Hooks High School in East Texas. They discuss him along with many other recruiting happenings including Manvel's Derrick Tucker, the 2018 class and much more.

Will and Mike also discuss Tilman Fertitta's (Landry's Inc. CEO) remarks that the Big XII and Texas are afraid to let Houston into the conference.

Does he have a point or is he just trying to get a seat at the table?

The logic y'all used against adding UH could've been used when we added TCU back in the day.

IMO, Louisville should've been the choice back then too.

Yep. . .

Cougar high brings nothing to the table. .  . .and adding TCU was stupid, doubling down on stupid doesn't make you smart.

From a strictly business perspective, I agree.

But, one of the things that makes college sports great is regional games & rivalries. Selfishly, as a Tarrant County resident, I love having TCU in the Big12. Their fans are almost as obnoxious as aggy and I interact with them daily.

I don't get that personal benefit with Louisville.

100% agree. Big 12 was trying to regain Texas market they lost with A&M. TCU not the team to do that. Hasn't really worked out as they hoped it would.

We shouldve listened to Boren in 2010 when he wanted Louisville. Hindsight 20/20. Big 12 thought that WVU and TCU would make up for Nebraska, A&M, CU (Denver), and Mizzou (KC and STL).

Mike and I both believe that the heads of the Big 12 were shortsighted there.

TCU + UH doesn't equal aggy's fan base, including the many east TX t-shirt wearers that they claim don't exist.

They could potentially come close if UH continues on an upwards trajectory. I'd rather have the Cougars than some of the other options out there. If forced to choose two tomorrow, I'd want UH and Cincinnati.

BYU is the best option, but it's in the wrong direction and I don't like them for other reasons.
