I hope Ojo is as good as his ranking. Film doesn’t look good
I would hesitate to judge an OL based on 1 on 1 drills. It's like judging skill positions on 7 on 7 but probably worse of a comparison.

Those were bad reps for sure and not what you expect to see from a 5 star tackle prospect but those reps are very far from real football.

Krempin was never more than a back up plan for us.
Krempin also wants a legit shake at tackle. He was told Texas would start him at tackle but I think there was some writing on the wall that sticking at Tackle would be an uphill battle given the talent we are bringing in there.

Lots of moving pieces as decision day nears for a lot of guy over the next few weeks:

Using SHAs post from earlier

DECISION DATES

RB Ezavier Crowell – June 26 - likely Alabama but Texas is making a strong push to get him in the class, especially with no RB targets remaining at this time.

OT Malaki Lee – June 27 - Michigan likely the pick. This is more of a positive indicator for Texas and Ojo and Turntine. Similar to losing Krempin to AM.

DB Chase Calicuttt – June 27 - Texas was felt to be the pick but that switched quickly to Georgia.

LB Xavier Griffin – June 29 - Texas has a pretty good shot at either Griffin or Atkinson. Both are heavyweight battles.

DT Kendall Guervil – July 2 - Texas a heavy favorite

Trenton Henderson set to announce July 2 - Texas is in the midst of things but probably not the leader

WR Kaydon Finley – July 4 - Continues to feel like a Notre Dame win over Texas in this one. Home teams can make a move late but there hasn't been much movement in this one for a while.

OT John Turntine – July 4 - Texas is trending nicely in this recruitment.

Bryce Perry-Wright – July 4 - After recent DE takes, Texas is a hat on the table

DL Lamar Brown – July 10 - Texas got in the mix but won't stick around in this one. Hope for LSU over A&M.

DE Jamarion Carlton – July 10 - Texas added a 5 star edge but that probably doesn't impact Carlton. Still a Texas lean.

TE Haze Kent – July 12 - Florida a likely winner here. Texas likes his unique size/athleticism combo but probably not a strong enough push to get him in the class.

DB Samari Matthews – Aug 10 - Now committing July 11th. He was seen as a Texas lock after the OV but South Carolina is making a strong push here. Still some time for this one to go back and forth a few more times.

No decision date known:
TE Keawe Brown - the likely Texas TE take in this class

OT Felix Ojo - It's been a battle for the 5 star tackle but Texas looks like they will win out in the end

Texas leans right now per Gerry.
Chace Calicut
Xavier Griffin
Kendall Guervil
Kosi Okpala
John Turntine
Jalen Lott
Jamarion Carlton
All should be announcing in the next 30 days

I don't think Lott is on Gerry's list. Calicut is leaning Georgia with Texas right there.

The rest are pretty solid.

Thursday recruiting update

1. OTF still likes where Texas sits with 4-star++ DL Kendall Guervil

2. OTF likes Georgia more for 4-star+ S/LB Chace Calicut

3. OTF believes 4-star++ DL James Johnson could go either way.

4. OTF likes where Texas sits with 5-star OT John Turntine III

5. Confidence remains for Texas with 5-star LB Xavier Griffin. OTF will continue to check to see if that remains, of course.

6. OTF likes where Texas sits with OT Felix Ojo. Early July decision likely.

7. 4-star++ CB Samari Matthews could go wither way with Texas and South Carolina. A little more Longhorns chatter today.

8. Texas very much in it with 4-star++ DB Davon Benjamin. Oregon is all in, however. This one could play out another month or so.

What now at RB? I hear 27 is a strong year at RB and Texas has a loaded backfield. I guess continue on Edwards, Cooper, and Crowell until December, but don't take someone just to take someone, imo
Texas won't stop recruiting Crowell

They'll stay on Crowell and Cooper and look for a later bloomer in the Fall. I don't think they're going to pursue Edwards anymore.

It would be nice to get one but it's not critical.
