2026 Recruiting Board/Thread

247 thinks Bell is still the strongest candidate to be Texas' 2026 QB.

Hamilton at OTF thinks the Texas staff prefers Bell, and they feel confident after meeting with him and his parents yesterday.

He added he believes Bell is the most likely to make the first move between him and Huhn, and that Bell could decide this month after those additional trips are complete.

I don't know if this is an indication of Sark wanting two QBs for 2026, but OTF is reporting that he told Dia Bell and Troy Huhn he would take both of them in this class.

That doesn't appear to be anything either guy is interested in, though.

With the portal it seems like taking 2 QBs isn't worth it. Like you would rather take one and then a more developed transfer in the future if needed. IDK...

Take 2 and develop them for a year (or two if you can). Now you have a year or two to evaluate which is going to be best to run your offense. The QB is probably the one position you need to be really successful in CFB.

I think Texas will take one QB in this class. I think Sark said that to motivate both, but one in particular, to go ahead and commit. He knew that getting both wasn't going to happen. but in doing that, showed he would take either.

Update on QB Dia Bell after his recent visit to Texas (247):

"It was great," Bell told Horns247. "Obviously coming back and being able to work with Coach Sark and Coach Milwee again in almost a practice sort of feel, it was good. I was able to meet some of their recruits. It was a fun time."

"There was obviously little stuff they will give you during the workout,"
he said of what he learned. "Not if you even missed a throw, but if you could have threw it better, how you could have threw it better or what you should have done. I wouldn't say they were any huge takeaways. I was just kind of gauging how they like to coach. Obviously because they're one of my top schools. I would want to know how they coach before I make a decision."

"He (Sark) tells me his background with quarterbacks,"
Bell said. "Obviously I did my own research before, so I know how good he is with quarterbacks and the amount of quarterback talent he's put in the NFL. That's one thing he says that sticks out about them. On top of that they just show a lot of love. They always just like catching up with me when I get out there and when I call them they like catching up. It's all that."

"I feel as if I'm getting pretty close (to a commitment),"
he said of a decision. "But I wouldn't say I have an exact timeline."

"Their background with quarterbacks,"
Bell said. "You've seen what Quinn Ewers was able to do this year. And obviously the Manning family sending Arch there shows a sign they think what they're doing at Texas is good for quarterbacks as well. I feel my relationship with Coach Sark and Coach Milwee is also great. I feel like all those play a role."

Scruggs at 247 has put in a Texas crystal ball for the following guys:

After QB Dia Bell visited Texas recently, the father of Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young reached out to the Bell family and spoke "glowingly" about Sark and their time under him at Alabama.

They also mentioned how much they enjoyed Austin when they made visits to campus.

Apparently the conversation really had an impact on Bell's father.

Wells at IT has also put in a Texas pick for Turntine III.

Not that I don't want that, but it is a bit premature considering Fasusi committing to Texas could turn this around.
aggy and okie are still lurking on both recruitments.
