2025 Recruiting Board/Thread

@BWilk55 has it right. When you see offers commit to non P3 teams it is because of disinterest from the bluebloods.

OTF had a post today on Russell and they're building it up as if a Texas offer is coming soon.

Russell spoke with Sark and other staff members on the phone recently.

"When the Texas staff called me the other day, they were saying all of the boxes are checked for me," Russell said. "Only thing left was to come see them in person so they could see what kind of guy I am."

"I am looking forward to building a relationship with all of the staff,"
Russell said. "I am looking forward to getting an offer from them, it would change a lot."

"Texas, like I said, was one of my dream schools,"
Russell said. "I feel like them (offering) is going to set (a standard). But they have KJ, so I don't know how much that will play a part. I say that because, I would go to Texas realistically. It is my dream school."

Nahlin at IT caught up with a source on the 7-on-7 circuit who mentioned Oklahoma isn't a foregone conclusion for S Jonah Williams, and even leaned towards Texas being his ultimate destination.

He mentioned Texas is pushing very hard and making Williams feel like a major priority, and it helps that he's now being recruited as a safety and baseball is being emphasized.

He'll be on campus for an unofficial visit on April 6th, and IT feels Texas is definitely in the thick of it.

They even hinted that Sark views him as a "must get," and he doesn't lose on those types of recruitments very often.

I thought he was MLB bound.

Update on QB KJ Lacey (247):

“Go out there, chop it up with the coaches, Coach Sark, Coach Milwee, Coach Harris,” Lacey said of what he was looking forward to about his visit.

“Talk to Arch, Quinn, Trey, see how it’s going out there.”

“Feeling great about it (commitment to Texas) still,”
he said. “That’s where I want to be at. That’s where I’m going."

“Just knowing that Texas is going uphill from here. Knowing as soon as I get there, I’m going to get developed to be my best self to get to the next level after that. My teammates around me, the class getting built up, the people that are going to be there before and after I get there, it’s going to keep on going uphill.”

“Marcus (Harris), Jordon (Davison), all them, the Mater Dei guys are always hitting me up. Jaime Ffrench, I’m trying to get him on my 7on7 team. I was at the Future 50 with him. Him and Ryan (Williams) were committed to Bama, so I was talking to them. Dakorien (Moore), I don’t think he’s going to leave Texas. Kaliq (Lockett), you know, receivers.”

“He’s going to definitely officially visit (Texas),”
Lacey said of Antonio Coleman. “I think when he comes out here he’s going to change his mind.”

“However it goes on that part (with a potential offer to Keelon Russell), just come in and compete and try as hard as I can to be the No. 1 quarterback,”
Lacey said.

Five-star OL Josh Petty from Roswell, GA recaps his Texas visit (247):

“The Austin experience was second to none,” Petty told 247Sports.

“The facilities are off the chart and the people in that building are very special. I like the culture the Longhorns have. Me and Coach Sark talked about it and it seems very special.”

“Texas is great with development,”
Petty said. “I know I would go against the best day in and day out.”
