2024 Recruiting Board/Thread

If Williams commits to Texas, Texas will move up to #2 in the 247 rankings with 303 points.
That is true for the overall rankings which includes recruits and portal.

For just the recruit rankings we would still be #3 behind Alabama.

Is something going on with Melvin Hills? He had a couple of off putting tweets in the last day. Hoping LSU and Bo aren't trying to get him to stay home now.
He signed an LOI. I don't think he's going anywhere.

With the turmoil currently happening at Auburn, we have to be feeling good about our chances with Williams if this is a Texas-Auburn battle, yes?

I didn't realize the class calculator was factoring in transfers. I stand corrected.
It's one of those things that websites and rankings are still figuring out. How to reflect the impact of recruiting and transfers in their rankings? I like how 24/7 has the capability of showing all 3 (recruits only, transfers only, combined).

He could, by rule, leave right now and play elsewhere in the fall.
Exactly. See Jahdee Barron, Bru McCoy, Devin Duvernay to name a few. Plus the rules are even more lax now that the NCAA keeps losing court decisions.

Barron is coming back.

Can you expand on the rule? I thought recruits were able to leave if the HC left. Is this a matter of getting a waiver due to the position coach departing?
Thanks

I didn't mean to imply there's some special rule.

If he's requesting out of his LOI, Texas will let him walk as there's no sense in dealing with that and then he'll be able to sign wherever he wants and play in the fall.

If for some reason Texas did put up a fight, it'd be silly since he could just transfer in the spring anyway and still play right away.
