Imo, I think Mack and Wilson made Hampton expendable. I still wanted him to be in this class, but the DB haul this year was a plethora of riches for Texas. Two possible day one contributors or two deep guys in Filsaime and Black and three developmental ones in JJR, Mack and Wilson. Hampton would've been a developmental one, imo.

He would also be a portal threat every year. Good luck to him, but maybe now we can pursue Bussey or another from the portal.

Cant take 18 year old kid's decisions personally, if they feel they are a better fit with another program, then so be it and wish them well

Not surprised on this with Hampton. There seems to be some drama around Hampton and the mom. He left Daingerfield in the summer and was enrolled in Carthage. Went back to Daingerfield before school when things didn’t work out at Carthage.

I don't think his ego fit at Carthage.

Maybe Bama is doing us a favor here.
