2024 Recruiting Board/Thread

Yes it likely going to be Mizzou
FWIW (which may be nothing) but a poster on 247 stated...

WRT Wingo, "I am looking into and have inside people on mizzous message boards. Mizzou fans are giving up hope and all signs pointing to Texas. Mizzous recent momentum is dead in the water."

Portal changes...

There use to be a portal thread but I dont see it on the first page and I'm not going to go look for it.

Anyway, there is a good writeup on a different board about the portal changes for this year if you are interested.

The NCAA has changed rules regarding when players can enter the transfer portal. The college football transfer portal window will begin Dec. 4.

Right in the middle of the college football season, the NCAA quietly made major changes to rules regarding the transfer portal and when athletes in football, men's basketball and women's basketball can enter. As coaches and administrators look to rein in the transfer madness that kicks off each December, the NCAA will further restrict windows to enter the portal that it previously implemented.

The NCAA's football, men's basketball and women's basketball windows now will 45 days per year during which athletes can enter the portal — that's down from 60 days per year previously. Under the old system, football players had 45 days to enter the portal starting with the day after conference championship games. Now, they will have 30 days from the end of conference title games. Players whose teams participate in bowl games will get an extra five days after their respective bowl games take place.

That gives us the following span of dates for the college football transfer portal window: Dec. 4 2023 to Jan. 3 of 2024.

It should also be noted that players on teams participating in the College Football Playoff or another particularly late bowl game could enter the portal without penalty in mid-January.

The overall result? Instead of closing in mid-to-late January, the portal's winter window will close early in the month for most players.

I will put up a new portal thread soon since the window is arriving in a little over a month.

TFB saying Texas pulled an ace from their sleeve in the past 24 hours. They say they have no idea how this will go. Their sources are saying Texas.
