I don't know much about this but apparently he was committed to Baylor, then "retired from football". Then said the retirement was a joke. Lots of time for this to play out but thought that was an odd start.

I don't get it.

Kelvin Banks was committed to Oregon. Then wasn't. Then committed to UT. Nobody blinked.

As for the joke, I thought it was funny. He's a junior in high school. lol

He is a sophomore which may explain the sophomoric behavior. I didn't see the "joke". I have been seeing all of his follow up tweets, doubling down on being "1000% percent committed", etc.

I hope he pans out and sticks with it for the next two years just pointing out that there have already been some oddities in this recruitment.

This is a kid who grows up in a town where the closest thing to civilization is a 7-11 some 40 miles away. Daingerfield is a town in decline and has been for 15 years. It is a shadow of its former self.

So I'd imagine you're looking at a kid who has been a bit overwhelmed at times with the process, even as early as it is. A kid with his skills plays varsity as a freshman. So his reputation for playing exceptionally is already there. But his ability to handle that success isn't.

I know his folks are pretty solid people and likely won't put up with any irresponsible stuff. I would guess one of his tweets was done by mistake and didn't say what it was supposed to.

When you speak of retirement at 16 years old, the only thing you can be doing is joking.

No offer from Texas yet.

No. 1 player in the state is just a 4-star?
Is it a down year for Texas?
I realize stars are a crap shoot at this point, but is that standard to only be a 4-star?

Maybe they meant #1 safety

247 saying Texas is still paying close attention to QB DJ Lagway of Willis.

Lagway mentioned one of his best relationships is with Coach Milwee because they've been in touch the longest, and he speaks with Texas weekly.

He is planning on hitting campus this spring even though Sark hasn't offered yet.
