2024 Recruiting Board/Thread

On "Football and Coffee" this morning Bobby Burton couldn't stress enough how Texas is tearing it up on the recruiting trail. Flip Tyanthony Smith, Filsaime. Lock in Kobe Black and maybe Hibbler while losing Hampton and call it good. Then on to the portal.

Looks like the Sark strategy is to go for broke on the best HS kids and then fill in any gaps with proven portal players rather than a lesser HS kid. Makes perfect sense.

I have seen everything from he hasn't set anything up to he's already canceled.

Just gonna have to wait and see what the weekend brings.
To be honest, at this point I would've probably already made the decision for him. Tell him thanks for thinking of us but we're going to move on. We want kids that are committed to the program 100%. He obviously has forces pulling him another way and that is fine.

Another thing to consider, sometimes drama is manufactured against a rival to give momentum to a new coach and staff. It's possible this whole thing was concocted to be able to say, "Elko won a head to head against the evil Sark". It gets the train moving forward because right now it's going backwards for them

Hey @TFloss32 , do you know which guys are early enrollees? I’ve seen several will be on campus as soon as next week to help run scout team for Washington. That is very valuable early experience

Well that is why you are just a poster and Sark and staff make the big bucks. They will recruit until the ink is dry.

For sure. Just because a player is conflicted about where to play doesn't necessarily imply that he isn't a good culture fit(i.e. the coaches think he is uber talented, will work hard and be a good team player).

If the coaches didn't think he was worth going after, they wouldn't be spending time recruiting him, particularly in December.

I’m glad we didn’t take that approach with Anthony Hill last year when he was committed to aggy.

Parker Livingstone announced this morning that Wingo, JJR, and the RB from AZ would be joining him in participating in bowl practices and travel with the team to the Sugar Bowl. What a great experience for those 4. I'm sure it will pay dividends down the line.
