2024 Recruiting Board/Thread

Weren’t y’all discussing flexible position groups only 2-3 weeks ago?  Tight ends are also used in other positions when they are very athletic with good speed.

Whittington can play almost any position on the offense with the exception of o-line and qb. Give him a few weeks and he might be able to play qb.

Hook ‘em!

Off topic, do you anticipate any verbals this weekend?

Yes

On the most important position. IMO theyare all equal for ateam to win a Natty. QB cannot pass laying on his back. WR can not catch if ballis overhis head. Same with defence.

Saw a Natty lost because punt returnerhad not been coached in termeralogy of his position.

Same in baseball star pitcher can pitch a shutout, but can not win if his team does not score.

Yes
IT had a roundtable discussion a couple of days ago, and someone set the over/under for commits this weekend at 1.5, and only 1 said over. The consensus seems to be early July for commits to start dropping.

They're all important, but not equally so. If the left guard goes down, it's next man up without too much concern.  Quinn went down against bama last year and look what hapenned. We'll never know for sure, but looked great while he was in there.

That's actually what I like about this staff's approach. They are shortening the gap between 1st and 2nd stringers.

If the spring game wasn't a fluke, I have way more confidence in Malik as the backup then I did last year with Card. Hopefully, we won't have to find out.

Yes
Vogel at TFB posted this morning he has numerous commitment articles ready to go, and he believes we'll see those happen at the end of the weekend.

He goes on to say this weekend will kick off what should be a tremendous two or three weeks of recruiting for Texas.

I don't know. I've been on TFB for several years and haven't seen them be wrong. I'll stick with their call.

You'll find out this weekend whether IT knew what they were talking about.

In fact

Per 247, S Joshua Lair of Fort Bend Marshall has quite a bit of family in Pflugerville.

There's also a long-time Austin ISD connection in his family which has allowed them to develop a good relationship with with Coach Fenner, former HC at Austin LBJ, who has been putting in a lot of work recruiting Lair.

We should know at the end of the weekend how hard Texas will push based on them looking great for several DB targets already.

IT believes the staff has Davis ahead of Lair right now.

As of about 45 min ago, IT hinting someone is already in the boat.
I’m new over there on IT………where did you see that over there? I’ve scanned a bunch and don’t see it. Probably not looking in the right place
