2023 Recruiting Board/Thread

Two days without a commit.......I don't like it.

The last week gave me increased expectations.

Obviously this recruiting cycle is far from finished BUT if we can keep the momentum and finish with the top class it would really show how elite our staff is at recruiting. 
 

Since 2010 (that’s as far as I looked) the team with the #1 class had success on the field in the two years leading up to the cycle. They were also all from the SEC (Bama doing it 9 times has a lot to do with it)

The teams averaged 23.9 wins and 3.5 losses during the two years. A$M is the only team to not have at least 20 wins and Georgia was the only team to have 7 losses. 
 

15-0 this year gets us to 20-7. I only point this out to demonstrate just how historic of a recruiting year we are witnessing.

Texbound, I am right there with you.  Got a little spoiled in July.  I also wonder if the staff is slowing down a commit or two now that we have a solid foundation and more visibility.  Unfortunately, we can't take everybody like the Royal days, so when Tfloss says we haven't heard about a name in awhile, I take it to me we have an embarrassment of riches this year.

I must say I am a little worried that our little brother with find some extra NIL just to sway Hill and Hicks away from UT, but we have to trust in the NIL system we are putting in place

my favorite aggy thought process was the guy on aggy yell (or whatever they call it) that was requesting they have lots of photos out there showing Jimbo loving up Revillee saying he thought it would really go over great with their recruits....

When all the commits started happening, IT said Cook and Greathouse were the 2 WRs that the staff would wait for until the end if they had to. I tend to agree with you, just sharing info.

This is a good problem to have, but, whats interesting is what if there are other elite guys that maybe looking at Texas on top of these players that are in projection or near projection to play for Texas we maybe looking at a juggling act

Not to belabor the point (thanks for allowing me to use a new word). We are splitting recruiting hairs here.

My only reason for putting Baxter so low is the RB room as it sits. But Hill is still more important than Hicks because of the position. IMO

12 people leaving the team just to accommodate the incoming class, each portal in requires one more portal out, so if they take say 4 more from the portal that ges you to surplus of 16. Sounds brutal, I guess that's the college football world we have entered.

A another reason Texas is having trouble winning last 7-8 years.
