Ford probably really doesn't fall into the late bloomer category while in high school. It was more after he got to Texas. Like this year.
Ojomo was crazy high rising late bloomer. Sweat also, though he committed early, took it to another level his senior year. I'd consider both DL late bloomers who have had a lot of success at Texas.

A REALLY late bloomer.

I did look at Ford’s recruiting timeline and his offer list would suggest he was a late bloomer in HS.

He got his first offer, Toledo, in December of his Jr year. He picked up Kansas, TT, Minnesota, Washington St and Utah during the Spring of his Jr year.

Committed to Utah in the Fall of his Senior year and Texas offered that December.

He was the lowest ranked recruit in our 2020 class 3 star (National: NA, Position: 81, State 153)

To truly appreciate what Ford has accomplished

Prince Dorbah, our other OLB in the class, 4 star (National: 127, Position: 7, State: 17)

It’s utterly ridiculous that the coaches in the Big 12 would rob a kid like Jaylon of his DPOY award.

Moro was young coming out of high school too (turned 17 during fall camp at Texas). Heck, he is just now barely 21 (birthdate Aug 15, 2001) and this was his 5th season on the team.

Most think he leaves for the NFL but I'm curious to see if he returns. Would be great news for Texas.

Karic was supposedly a late bloomer
No, Karic was NOT a senior season late bloomer. Look at the dates of his offer list: https://247sports.com/Player/Andrej-Karic-46050370/TimelineEvents/

He was started getting Power 5 offers after his sophomore season.

What about Ford ?

He was also a late bloomer
Ehhhh... I don't know about Ford looking at his offer dates: https://247sports.com/Player/Jaylan-Ford-46051140/TimelineEvents/

Senior season late bloomers usually get a bunch of power 5 offers during & right after their senior season. Based on Ford offer dates, UT was the only school that offered that during his senior season. And we all remember the only reason that UT started recruiting Ford is because of how awful a job that Herman & staff did recruiting LBs during that 2020 recruiting cycle.

Yes they did, big time.

He was a late bloomer as far as we were concerned. We jumped in with an offer extremely late in the cycle.

But no, he didn't bloom his sophomore year. He simply got bigger and he played at Southlake. Thats not blooming.

Uh, I don't know what to say. Again, he had a little size and played a position we were in need of.

He didn't even bloom when he got here. It wasn't until this year did the light turn on.

Seems to me Texas is late showing intrest to a lot of players Late bloomers or not.

changing the topic back to the 2023 class, I'm assuming UT will not be getting anyone until Dec 21.  Seems quiet on this front for now.  I know they're in on guys like A. Hill, J. McDonald and the DL from Georgia.  Duce Robinson is a longshot, but there still is a slight (and I mean slight) chance to pull the upset here.

Where do they currently stand with P. Bowen, J. Greathouse, D. Hicks, Deandre Moore, Toviano, D. Wilson, T. Akana or any others?

Okay, let me just apply what others have reported to your questions.

When asked which, of Bowen, Hicks and Toviano, would be visiting Texas in December – Hamilton said one of the three would. Its a toss up on who that might be.

Greathouse is still being pursued but it's troubling that there's been no move on his part by now.

T. Akana and Wilson, I have heard nothing on.

Your first paragraph was pretty accurate. You might say Hill will likely be a Horn soon. Same with McDonald.

Robinson likes us, but I'm not sure its enough.

Update from TFB on the Ant Hill situation.

They are told that S'maje Burrell will take some visits if Hill joins our class. He's going to look around a bit. No decommitment is imminent of course, but that's what they're hearing.

Good news for Texas is the timing won't work out for Burrell to take visits if he plans on signing early and he's waiting on a Hill decision.

I could see him not sending in his LOI if he sees Hill has sent his in to Texas. He could participate in the later NSD.

I'm speculating. Who knows what goes through his mind on this. Apparently, he wants to be the guy.

IT saying coaches Sark, Choice and Flood will be in Orlando this weekend to do an in-home with OL Payton Kirkland.

They believe it's likely they do the same for RB Cedric Baxter, Jr.
