Then why did PK start him for two years now (starting as a freshman no less)? Why hasn't anyone beat him out?

Something must be going right or that doesn't happen.

I think he will replace Watts on the short side of the field… perhaps better suited for this?

He’s has been a good corner for us… with a ceiling to get better. We are fortunate to have him.

With Brooks and Mohammed at the corners, we're in good shape. Not sure what the depth looks like. The weakness has been that our safeties can't cover. That's not uncommon in college because the best cover guys play corner. Sark needs to find the unicorns...guys that can cover man to man and are willing to play safety. I suspect part of the issue is that cover corners are highly coveted and paid in the NFL so that's what the cover guys prefer to play. Sark has talked about that a lot during the year. He wants all his secondary guys to be able to play press man to man, but we just didn't have all the right guys to make that happen. The exception was the Tceh game where our guys matched up good enough to play tighter coverage. This is why so many safeties hit the portal and why Sark is bringing in better safeties.

Curious if the return of David Gbenda makes the staff move on from Kendrick Blackshire? CJ Vogel has been pointing out that the two are very similar players overall. Would be good depth at the position but not add anything new.
