2023-24 Transfer Portal Thread (PORTAL CLOSED)

Malik was better at the end of the year.
They're different in that Watts can press bc he is so big, Muhammad is a true cover corner with more speed and quickness. Watts reminds me a Quinton Jammer, if he gets his hands on the receiver while pressing, they arent going anywhere, he's not as fast as Muhammad but he is better against larger receivers

I don't want to lose Watts, but he definitely needs to work on his game, turning to look for the ball primarily.
The Washington recievers seemed to deceive our corners when the ball was approaching them in the air, Rod Babers talked about this; when he was a Texas; coach Akina and a lot of Db coaches teach the secondary to read the receivers eyes, when the ball is close, receivers will open their eyes big. So the DBs will break on the WR's hands and arms or look back to defend the ball when the receivers eyes get "big". Some receiver coaches coach the receivers to not do this so they dont give away where the ball is as it approaches. I suspect that the Washington receivers were doing this because there were several times when our corners were in great position to defend the ball as it was getting to the WR and we did not look back or get our arms out in time to deflect the pass

Odunze has some of the latest hands in the country. It is a huge advantage for him and he uses it well.

I'd like to hold it against the secondary in that game, but I've never seen so many dimes dropped in perfect places by a quarterback with the exception of Joe Burrow in 2019. Penix was out of this world on Monday. I tip my cap to him and hope he does it to the Michigan fightin' cheaters next Monday.

Watts is our best corner, he had some nagging injuries this season, so the fact that you think having him transfer is a good thing is laughable
Why would anyone want him to hit the portal? He is another who needs to elevate his draft stock. You don't do that by portalling away from Texas.
