Good player, good kid. But he's a low-ceiling recruit, so we slow-played. Mack didn't slow play.

LB may be the one position where we need to raise the talent level the most. We've had some additions that will help (Thornton), but we need to add some higher-end talent to the room.

We're still very much in play for Perkins and I've heard staff has reason for optimism there.
I still refuse to get my hopes up on Perkins. But he would be a huge get. Glad we are still in play.

Disagree about LB being the position needed to upgrade the most. Have you seen our OL room?! 5 of those guys play every down. We have several talented LBs in that room and only 2 of those guys play.

OL room is almost as thin as the DB room and 5 of those play every down also.

Then the most talented LB will proably go pro. after this season.

It was in the works
Yeah, about damn time.  Seems like the staff had to keep working to keep him, but didn't show him the love he was looking for.  It sucks, but i get the sense they (UT staff) have others in mind...just my opinion.

Classic Gary P. But with the mild surprise of Austin Jordan this stings less. Still several more important targets on the board.

If things do get done like expected and Texas could join the SEC in 2023 season, recruiting won’t be an issue any longer. Arch will also be a Longhorn as well IMO. Imagine Arch Manning leading Texas in the first SEC season for a minute…

I'll be the one to bite the bullet and ask... With the possible move to the SEC, does this make Ewers reconsider? Or are all systems go for Arch?
