What are our silent commits waiting on?  I suspect mainly to finish enjoying the process.  But, like has been said before on this board, a silent commitment is really no commitment...at least to recruiting fans.

I think some of them want to finish their visits and see some places. But I do think their mind is made up on where they want to go.

If there's a commitment from this weekend to be announced, I would expect it to be Monday or Tuesday.

What’s the outlook on dewberry? Apparently he nearly committed this weekend at Ohio state.
I was really hoping Dewberry would be in the Texas class, but I will be extremely happy with a class of Campbell, Banks, Cam Will, Hutson and Robertson.  Maybe through in a Sexton and a player to be named later.

IMO, there is no way Dewberry ends up in this class. He is a love-sick puppy right now after his Ohio State visit. Almost committed while he was there.

OrangeBloods being told the visit for S Bryce Anderson of Beaumont West Brook went exceptionally well, the Texas staff went above and beyond and it was the best visit he's had.

It sounds like Sark even threw a crawfish boil for the family at his house.

The plan right now is to take a few days to relax and let the visit wear off, and then decide if the July 4th commitment date will remain in place.

On DT KJ Miles of Jersey City, NJ...the consensus across the board seems to be that Texas made a great impression on him and his family over the weekend, but it's questionable whether he'll be able to commit soon if the staff feels they're in a good spot with other players (i.e. Bledsoe and Bryant) at his position.

Silent, Verbal, and Signed (thanks to the portal) all have the potential to be a temporary decision. I think the only benefits to having a verbal or signing a good class is the momentum it creates for other prospects.
Everything is so much different now than it was 10-15 years ago when Mack would fill a class on Junior day. All of the schools fight the same issue to some extent. Proximity to home has become less relevant, the players still want to go to a good program but they want to be a star or focal point. If your team underperforms players will leave. If a team wins a championship but the player doesn’t get to shine they will leave. Coaches are basically having to continue recruiting the kids until they graduate. It’s exhausting.

Each year we seem to move farther away from the “team” concept. Individualism is ruining college sports just as it has professional.

I feel sorry for these kids when they finally realize they aren’t actually special in the big scheme of things. We all come to that realization at some point as adults but it’s proving to be especially rough on the “me” generation.
Just saying.

Having no room for Sexton at the burnt orange inn is a positive development.
Sorry. A lil gun shy after last year's cycle. We were high on everyone's list early on then they started dropping like flys. Now we're hearing that Dewberry who was with Campbell and Banks as " must get" is loving him some tOSU and probably out of this class.

Ok, I'll be patient.
