Bot 3: La Tech pitcher struggling with control, walking Kennedy and nearly hitting Ivan to lead off the inning. He ends up striking out Ivan, grounding out Stehly. Austin Todd with the 2nd best contact by Texas on the day but his liner is right at 2nd basemen preventing Kennedy from scoring.

Pitcher seems to have adjusted by throwing more curveballs. If Texas hitters can adjust they could do some damage.

Top 4:

Good News: Gordon only needed 9 pitches to end the inning. Getting 6 innings out of him now in play. Stevens did jog to the pen during the inning.

Bad News: The first 3 pitches included a double, sac bunt and a RBI single. 2 pop ups in the infield ending the threat.

Texas 1 La Tech 1

Bottom 4: La Tech pitcher continues to be effectively wild. Walks Messinger to lead off the inning. Two outs later Faltine put together a nice at bat and scores a single but Hodo grounds out to 3rd.

If I remember correctly, La Tech’s pitchers frequently have a pretty unorthodox delivery. True this year?

Top 5. Gordon gets a 2 strike count but the batter battles back and hits a single after working a 3-2 count. Bounces back with a strike out looking for the first out. Line drive single to center but Hodo hoses the runner trying to take 3rd base for the 2nd out.

Top 5: Wow! Hodo then tracks a deep fly ball to the wall in center field and makes the catch while jumping into the wall. Gordon at 85 pitches. Probably see him in the 6th but with a short leash.

I think Texas solves this pitcher in the bottom of the 5th. Need to put some runs on the board.

Bottom 5: Really bad strike call leads to a Kennedy strike out. Melendez walked but Stehly grounds into a double play.

Top 6: Another ball sent to the warning track by La Tech but tracked down by Dylan Campbell. A seeing eye ground ball through the left side for a single. Tristan Stevens has been warming up...and he'll be entering the game.

Top 6. Stevens with a first pitch pop out. Before giving up a single. Runners on the corners and two outs.

I'll be back in a bit, going to get the baby in bed. Someone can take over for me from here.

Bottom 6: Big response from the crowd prior to 0-2 pitch and Stevens gives the people want they want with a K looking to end the threat. 10 hits for La Tech so far but only 1 run.

Okay, bedtime
