If he scared of competition let him leave.... Texas football has had plenty of these types the past decade. We need dogs.
Well, the dogs at QB want a chance to play. He figures his time would be limited, at best, with all of the quality we have now. Hudson Card has turned a lot of heads since practice began.

I’m not that big on Milroe really.  I think the two ahead of him will keep him from playing most of his time at Texas

QBS come and go its the name of the game. Not the first time for Texas nor the last..

Sorry to see him go if he does but life goes on.

Next two commitsshould tell a lot about Toms thinking.

Seems silly to leave because of someone coming in behind you.  Bryce Young still has 3 years at Bama'.

Seems like he was going to flip anyway. Him thanking Beck and his comment to Yurcich says it all.

I was big on Milroe. He reminds me of a slightly shorter Vince Young and with a slightly better passing motion. When the ball is snapped, the first guy getting the ball can kill you with his feet or his arm. Thats a tremendous weapon to have.

I don't sell him short, he's going to be special. Bama has been relentless in their pursuit and ultimately, became the defacto choice.

I think you can see this hurt him to post that. He spent 80% of the message talking about UT.

I wouldve absolutely hated this at this time last week, but having Quinn (they need to absolutely keep him) in fold makes sense he would pull the trigger.  If everything goes as planned, Casey Thompson is the likely starter for 2021 and maybe 2022. Card will likely be  QB1 in 2023 and 2024 as a RS Jr. (if not sooner as a RS So).  Ewers can take over the position as early as 2024 (hopefully in 2025) through 2027.  I guess i should've just said it will be a Thompson, Card and Ewers job through at least 2027. That's at least the next 7 years tied up for QB1. I havent even talked about Jackson and he could beat them all out.  Not saying Milroe couldn't have won the job over them, but the window and leash might've been short for one position.

Nahlin on IT mentioned that Milroe flipping likely doesn't help us with LJ.  Hope we can get Wheaton onboard asap if that's the case.

I posted earlier about Milroe and was ok with it.  Well, I just got home from playing golf and im still ok with it; however, i am a little pissed about him picking Bama.  I wouldve been fine with Miami, Auburn, USC, but f___ Bama. Im tired of Bama getting what they want whenever they want.  Time for them to go the way of Nebraska and slither off into obscurity.

Let me repeat that if i was too tame, F@#K BAMA!!!!

This is likely just a coincidence, but I wonder if a trend is starting to emerge with UT recruiting.

2017 - new staff, mediocre (according to the ratings) 2017 recruit class.  Some of these guys have really developed nicely though

2018 - elite, championship-level class with lots of NFL potential

2019 - another top notch class with great potential to produce NFL quality players

2020 - pretty good class with some star potential and developing players

Cycle starts again

2021 - coaching changes leads to a decent class with some stars and quality players (on paper, better than 2017, but likely below the previous 3 years overall).  Coaching changes probably affects relationships with recruits

2022 - potential to be an elite, championship-level class with a true bell cow for others to follow.

2023 & 2024 - ????

Probably just a coincidence, but I would be ok with that kind of cycle. You know coaching changes will happen again in some fashion. Each 4 years gets slightly better than the previous 4 until every year is elite.

Ok, I'm just bored right now and waiting for the coming "stay at home" restrictions/lockdown getting ready to be imposed here in Hawaii.

He’d never Have played a down at Texas between card, JQJ and Ewers.  Might not play at Bama either.

Odds are Card or  JQJ will transfer and Ewers is two yeats away.

Too long off for me to get excited maybe when he enrolls

Thompson will transfer at Christmas.  Card will pass him up quickly.

You may be right. However, I have a different prediction. I've read and watched videos and podcasts on Quinn Ewers  since he committed on Friday and the general consensus is that Quinn will either win the job or compete for the job from day one.

I watched a podcast with a 24/7 scout who said that he thought that Quinn was the best QB in high school last year. That means according to him that Quinn was better than Hudson Card, Ja'Quinden Jackson, and Jalen Milroe. That also means he's better than this year's number one QB Oklahoma commit Caleb Williams. It's strange watching film with different people and it's nothing but praise for a sophomore. His film is one of the best I've ever seen. His accuracy, touch on the ball, is amazing. Trevor Lawrence is the QB that Quinn is being compared to and he had no problem starting as a true freshman.I predict he will be the starter for three years in 2022-2024 and then go pro.

That would mean that we will have a one year starter for Texas in 2021 and I predict that Hudson Card will win the job next year. It would not surprise me if Casey Thompson is the starter since he's been in the program longer, however I believe that Card is the most talented as far as a passer and is a quick effective runner. Lake Travis is a great program with a good history of training QBs  and I heard Hudson has had a private tutor in high school.

My hope is that if Ja'Quiden doesn't win the job then he will switch to another position to play in the NFL rather than transfer to another school to play QB.

I chuckled when I saw that Jalen switched to Alabama. It didn't take long. I believe it's going to be difficult to get a top rated QB this year and a top rated QB next year if we take two. Any QB we take this year will redshirt and then be in the same class as Quinn.

Besides wanting winning football as a Texas fan, I always want another great running back like Earl and Ricky and we have that with Bijan even though he has a different running style.I also dream of having another Vince Young and it looks like we have that with Quinn and he has a different style than Vince at QB.

Ewers better passer Young better runner.

I am awaiting next two or three  commits(Milroe spot) to see what Tom thinks is position of need.

Milroe bolted 4 months from signing day.  Ewers has 16 months.  Nothing is guaranteed.  Keeping Ewers in the fold will be a chore.  He’ll be recruited by the same ones that were after Milroe.
