Coach Valai seeing CB Ennis Rakestraw of Duncanville.

Question- why is Rakestraw a 3 star?

it seems he is vastly underrated or teams like Texas and BAMA are putting a whole lot of stock in the Rockwall game.

Super late bloomer. Just growing into his body. Watch his senior film. It’s 4 star worthy. Junior film is a different player.

RECRUITING ANALYST RAVES ABOUT BIJAN ROBINSON AT POLYNESIAN BOWL

Just like he did throughout his week of practice and Jan. 4 performance at the All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Bijan Robinson is turning heads two weeks later, leading up to another national showcase.

The five-star recruit from Tucson (Ariz.) Salpointe Catholic is proving his worth as the 247Sports Composite's No. 15 overall prospect and No. 2 running back ahead of Saturday's Polynesian Bowl.

Throughout the week of practice at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, the Texas signee has proven to 247Sports national recruiting minds such as editor Brandon Huffman and analyst Blair Angulo why he holds his ranking

"But he's just out there. He doesn't say a whole lot. He's not a real loud, vivacious type, but he does make some plays and you love that. Two guys we mentioned are both five-star types, tops of their positions nationally. And those are the types of guys that, in these events, may have a reason to not really go 100 percent. But neither of them has stopped in it. And I think the Bijan Robinson's matched Justin Flowe this week, just in overall effort and energy, and I think he's really shown why Tom Herman and so many other schools came out to the West Coast to try and get him."

Best I can figure is there are 5 ships open. IMO a RB WR for offence and two DL and a DB would round out the recruiting. Take the best players Tom can get.

Looks like Isaiah Dunson is being CBd to Miami. Sudden turn of events. Apparently we’re going in a dif direction.

Makes you wonder if Rakestraw is in the fold.

My question is, why would we stop pursuing a 4* CB just because we might have a second one leaning our way. We play in the Big 12, we need at least 3 CB's every other cycle.

Another question, why would anyone lean towards the dumpster fire that is the U. Manny Diaz will not right that ship.

Good point. Even if Rakestraw was in the fold why turn Dubson away? Btw...dunson runs a sub 4.9. Someone pointed it out and I was a bit surprised.

Now that I looked at Dunson's timeline. He just finished his official at Miami. Seems like someone always CB's after an official. He's scheduled for an official at Texas next week.

Apparently word going around is he’s not coming next week.

TOP PERFORMANCES FROM THE 2020 POLYNESIAN BOWL

RB Bijan Robinson - When he had the ball in his hands, Robinson showed he could be the nation’s most complete back. He can run with power and speed and has great hands out of the backfield. He has plenty of wiggle in the open field and always looks like a threat to score every time he touches the ball. He should see the field immediately at Texas this fall.

I doubt Texas tries to recover in this. When there's a 4-star to be had, you do your due diligence. But you don't break your back trying to get a 4.9 CB on board.

MR. CONSISTENT

This award goes to the player that was the best from start to finish and it goes to Robinson. The five-star was full-go all week, flashing his ability to run between the tackles as well as catch the ball out of the backfield. In Saturday’s game he did both, rushing for 16 yards and a touchdown and also catching three passes for 35 yards. The Texas signee's all-around game combined with his work ethic makes him a special prospect
