Top college football recruiters for the Class of 2019

2. Drew Mehringer
School:
 Texas
Top commitment: ATH Bru McCoy

Mehringer isn't far behind Niedermeyer because of what he added to this Texas roster, especially on offense. He coaches wide receivers and is going to have a ton of talent in his room next season. That now includes the No. 1-ranked athlete in the country, Bru McCoy. Many thought the Longhorns would win out for McCoy on early signing day because of the relationship Mehringer had built with him throughout the process. McCoy enrolled at USC instead, but he transferred to Texas shortly thereafter. A big part of that decision came down to the work Mehringer had put in during the recruiting process.

Mehringer also had a hand in landing ESPN 300 athlete Jordan Whittingtonand four-star wide receivers Jake Smith and Marcus Washington, as well as three-star receiver Kennedy Lewis. Mehringer did a lot to improve the athleticism on the Longhorns' offense in the years to come.

After losing Leal last year, Texas can’t afford to lose Broughton to the Aggies this time around. Something tells me the staff won’t get caught with their guard down this time.

They will bring every armor and artillery with this one

RIngo does not plan on announcing for a while... Broughton just got interesting. He went from having no interest in aggy to having them at the top of his list with Texas.....
Our most recent commit was going to announce at end of summer. Anything can happen, any time. Especially when your coach is a former AA from Texas.

It seems to me that we always lose one commit that was all but penciled in to us. This can’t happen along the offense or defensive line this year.

They don't have much. Just point to Daylon Mack and say "WTH?"

And aggy has exhibited nothing to suggest they're on the upswing. Same old 3rd-4th place finish in a division of a conference.

They couldn't beat Texas in recruiting, even on the momentum of a $75 million coaching hire.

He won't be the only QB we recruit, not by a long shot. And we're not the only school he's looking at.
Well SHA I know it's Wayyy early but you and I needs to get together with our recruiting notes and we need to compare notes as to whom we both feel good about Texas chances ..I know there's more names out there that will be thrown in the hat but just for fun time sake on this one.. And umm I did lose that bet against you with the McCoy prediction

In Mack’s defense, he played well this past year and flashed at the Senior Bowl. He wasn’t the five star folks pegged him at but I don’t think his story is done just yet.

And of course they will use Myles Garrett on every kid that will listen.

Their biggest sell is sec.... And it works with a lot of kids... See Leal.

#HRTSB... he rules the senior bowl

Setting the line at three 5 stars in the 2020 class. You taken the O/U?
I might straddle the fence here and say three.

A couple of things will factor in. We must do well, again, and show continued climb in our trajectory. Aggy needs to go 0 for 4 against their big boys on their schedule. That will eliminate the myth Jimbo will save them from themselves.

Aggy gets Clemson, Bama, Georgia, and LSU. Only one of those is at home (Bama)

And we need to show some dominance over OU, whether thats once or twice during the season.
