SMU cheated, got caught and kept cheating while thumbing their noses at authority so the NCAA had no other recourse. However, the death penalty not only killed SMU but a conference (the SWC) too. I doubt the NCAA will ever imposed it again since it had so many ramifications to it.
Don't ever forget (not directed so much at you) that Dickerson drove up to SMU in a car that Aggy bought for him. He kept it for two years.

Higgins visit did not move the needle... Lewis now deciding this week... Connect the dots

Calculator....
A receiver at that game with the way the offense looked and the ball was spread around and still didn’t move the needle. I don’t know what would move it. We are set up with good QB prospects for years to come. Go to somebody that wants to be here.

Stanford acceptance moves the needle. We were Plan B I'd imagine.

Texas likely found out where they stood with Higgins this weekend and ramped up the efforts on Lewis who wasn’t going to need much prodding at this point to get in the boat.

Very interested to hear what Noah Cain has to say coming out of this weekend.

Talk on other boards is Banks visiting may have ruffled some feathers with the Watson's and they are going to take visits.

I wouldn't buy into that until there is some substance behind it. Banks very well could have visited just for the free ticket.

Who are the Watson's and why does it matter?
Kenyatta Watson out of Grayson, GA. He's been committed to Texas since May. There has been speculation at times that he was going to take some other visits, but thus far there hasn't been much substance to them.

Myron Warren visited LSU this weekend and was not offered. However, several LSU reporters believe that an offer could be coming soon. If it does, Texas' chances with Warren drastically decline.

Kids are funny. Sometimes, taking that visit and walking away without an offer can be awkward, even cause some butt hurt.

Even so, that could all fly away with an offer he's always dreamed of.

Agree. And I think the Watsons knew Texas was taking another CB in this class when he committed.

Banks is searching for a new home though. He really liked Texas before he didn't, earlier in the process.

With Watson, I wouldn't be surprised if he takes some visits. That hasn't been out of the question. Texas just needs to continue making him feel like the priority he is.
