From Perroni: UPDATE: Coburn apparently did not make it to Austin. There is some concern on Texas' part that he signs elsewhere with both Miami and A&M seen as potential threats.

So the kid doesn’t make a UOV on his own dime to the place he’s been committed to for months and instead stays home so we jump to the conclusion he is flipping?

I do not. When a kid doesn’t give a specific time we just prepare for it whenever starting early in the AM.

I’m simply just trying to keep things in perspective.

TCU and A&M were viewed as the threats for him for some time. Miami was never considered a serious player in this recruitment so I’m not really buying him flipping there even with him taking a free trip out there this month. Unless he took stealth OVs to TCU or A&M this month then I’m not worried about them either because they needed to get him on campus to really have a shot in turning the tide. 

The news of him visiting Texas was not going to stay a secret so I’m not sure why he would be upset. Word was going to leak out eventually. Whether he eventually ends up in Austin this weekend or decides to stay home, as long as he doesn’t show up on another campus I call that a win for Texas. 

It’s officially silly season in recruiting, so take most things with a grain of salt and look at the data the kid has provided you with via his actions throughout the cycle. That’s my advice to everyone reading this. 

I’ve been wrong before and certainly will be wrong again because trying to predict what these kids will do is close to impossible, but if it ends up being any place else besides Texas at this point I will be surprised.

Twitter is how kids communicate and seeing the change in Coburn's account appears to follow that same path. I hope I'm reading this wrong because we need him and more like him. Hang on for what could be a bumpy ride the next 4 days. Hook 'em.
