http://texas.thefootballbrainiacs.com/2017/10/open-post-wednesday-october-18th/– Tommy Bush: Texas is hosting another big visitor this weekend in Samuel Clemens (TX) WR Tommy Bush. He will be coming into town with both of his parents, and the other news will be he is coming in on an unofficial visit not an official visit. Bush has only taken one visit during the season, and it was an official to Nebraska on October 8th. He’s told me he doesn’t plan to take many visits during the season so this is a big one for Texas.
Bush is 6’5 200 pounds and is a freak athlete playing WR. Texas has 3 WR’s committed right now and expect them to take 4 at the most in 2018. The top two guys on the board are Bush and Jaylen Waddle. Texas seems to prefer Waddle over Bush, and I think that’s the right approach. Waddle is my #1 WR in the state so that’s a big reason why I’d like that stragegy. The other reason is that Texas has a WR committed right now that is similar to Bush and that’s Brennan Eagles. Eagles is a tall, freak athlete playing WR but isn’t the most refined WR like some others and is a bit raw. But his upside through the roof.
I’ve felt for awhile now that if Texas plans to take Bush, he’ll likely be a Longhorn on NSD. Baylor has made a huge impression on Bush. And with Texas being behind the 8-ball for awhile with him after a late offer, the Bears were his leader for awhile. Michigan State is a school he said he may visit in a few weeks. Nebraska and Florida State are also threats for him. Right now Bush is looking at making a decision on National Signing Day. – (Andrew)
Don’t think it’s factoring in. I think early on the chatter was that she wanted him close to home and that still could win out, but Michigan seems to be the favorite.I read somewhere that MMs mom is a Texas alum. Does thst have any weight in his decision. I'm still sticking with SHA and thinking it might be a shock on Friday. I'm probably wrong, but I'm thinking it's going to hsppen because I keep thinking of the Woods-anderson shocker. Everyone, and I mean Everyone, thought it was Alabama (or ehoever the other team was) but it turned out to be Texas.
Not trying to complicate this at all. I just don’t see things as optimiscally as some here based on what we know and how I’ve seen recruitments play out before. Simple as that. You guys are making this too difficult. The correlation is simple. Despite what someone argued above there are times when players commit and then take their official visit later. The point was made that MM would not be committing to Texas because he had not officially visited. The fact is several players do that every year. Commit and then do the official visit. We might or might not be seeing that with MM.
You're probably right, but Im just optimistic that MM will see the avg weather forecast for Ann Arbor and change his mindNot trying to complicate this at all. I just don’t see things as optimiscally as some here based on what we know and how I’ve seen recruitments play out before. Simple as that.
Quarterbacks commit early in the process to reserve their spot unless you are Justin Fields are so good schools will wait no matter what.
We see guys pop early in the process and take their official to the school they committed to in the fall all the time. The difference with Muhammad was that he was adamant about going to NSD, he lined up his Top 5/officials on a local news broadcast, he then takes his first trip and after that abruptly drops a commitment date out of the blue. Caught everyone off guard.
I don’t see the correlation here.
I feel like their would be more momentum if he was picking Texas. There is none right now in regard to him for the horns. Michigan has been the favorite for quite a while now. I believe you are just being optimistic/talking yourself into something that won't happen SHA.Ok, so we're going to move the goalposts. Rondale Moore is not a QB. He will be on his OV to Texas this weekend after committing in the early summer.
You've 180'd from "this happens few and far between" to "We see guys pop early in the process and take their official to the school they committed to in the fall all the time."
What we do often see is commitment dates moved up or moved back.
His mom is a UT grad. Michigan decided it forgot how to offense. UCLA visit convinced him he was wasting his time. Playing in Austin where mom can see you fairly easily beats going to Michigan, freezing your tail off in an offense that isn't exactly providing hope while your mom watches on TV.
If Texas misses out on Waddle then bush is a for sure get. Long story short I believe he was ready to pull the trigger a couple months ago but dad talked him out of it. To watch things play out.
yeah, but did he bake him a Texas shaped cake? Well, one that sorta looks like Texas.
I hope SHA is right but I doubt we land MM. I heard Harbaugh brought over his sleeping bag and slept over at his house yesterday. Game changer.
I heard they snuck out after dark and TPd a few houses in the neighborhood.I hope SHA is right but I doubt we land MM. I heard Harbaugh brought over his sleeping bag and slept over at his house yesterday. Game changer.

Again, hope you are right but we should consider MM bonus at this point. Hook Em
I'll tell you why... cause everybody and their momma expect it to be Michigan!! Lol
We'll agree to disagree. You think Texas, I think Michigan. We'll see Friday. For the record, hope I'm wrong.Well, lol, there ya go lol
Then let me clarify because I’m not trying to move any goal posts.Ok, so we're going to move the goalposts. Rondale Moore is not a QB. He will be on his OV to Texas this weekend after committing in the early summer.

Do kids commit early before taking an official visit? Sure, but I don’t think this recruitment is following the typical path as the others.
Muhammad hasn’t been on campus since July. Not for a game, practice etc. Not necessarily a bad thing because since Texas was on the docket to get an OV, but it’s something to note.
Michigan hasn’t lit the world on fire by any stretch, but they certainly put themselves in a great spot in the spring by all accounts and Harbaugh has a better recent track record of putting TEs in the league and utilizing them. I can still see the appeal for kids and the pitch being effective.
I agree that we see decision dates move up and back. In this particular case I don’t see it as a good thing for Texas because I think they needed this to stretch things out as long as possible to make up ground and close the deal.
The abrupt decision to not take all his visits is something that also worries me. This is only good for Texas if Texas ends up being the pick and things leading up to today don’t make me think it will be based on what we’ve heard.
Your last bit is probably what Texas is pitching him on, but I’m not convinced that’s what will be the deciding factors.
We will just have to disagree.
It’s a very cloudy crystal ball right now for me, but I have nothing that makes me want to flip it to the good guys or anywhere else for that matter. Everyone is sitting on Michigan picks because as it was conveyed to us back in the spring it was basically a done deal, but he still wanted to explore his options and take the visits.MM hasn't been to Michigan since April.
I hope you're wrong, but you're probably right. I'd like to be right but only for the sake of getting a premier TE. I am not a fan of Epps, at least not on offense. I have doubts about DW-A whether he ends up here.
I'll stick with Texas and hope for the best.

Like I said before, this kid goes to the beat of his own drum and doesn’t really ride the wave of trends. He could shock everyone on Friday, but I’m not prepared to bet on it.
Lol hey since I'm the one buying this steak dinner and I'm betting you. Yes I'll pitch in one for Kate as wellIf I'm right, any chance you all will pitch in for a steak dinner? lol . . For Kate, I mean. lol
