How do you see the staff handling the TE position? I just don't see them taking 3, so do they keep pursuing MM?

Best guess is that they keep recruiting him and if he wants in then someone is politely asked to "explore other options".

I'll believe they take 3 tight ends when they sign them. I could be wrong, but I can't see that right now.

I have read a few places that Epps is a RS candidate and the Juco kid is 1 and done.

If these are both true 3 makes sense to me

Everyone is talking about DWA being a one and done, but he hasn't even taken a snap at the D1 level. We won't know if he's that special of a talent until he starts logging snaps in Austin.
Epps definitely looks like a RS candidate as things sit now with his development.

You don't see many schools taking 3 at a position like TE in a class very often.

I think we can take as many as 25 this class. If some top players want in I don't think they will turn them away. May force out some existing players for NRA.

Considering next year we are left with Reese and Brewer only once Epps takes a RS that leaves us with 3 playing. 4 if you count garret Gray.

I think the way Herman uses TE's he would be looking at 4-5 as his ideal number

Interesting comparison, but no you don't. Quarteback is also the most important position and you have two on scholarship currently.

All I'm saying is that I will be very surprised if the staff takes three or is able to get three in the boat. We will see what happens.

I agree that it will be difficult to get 3 in. Especially considering we took 2 this year, kids aren't stupid they will see that the room is young and full.

Herman also doesn't strike me as a coach who will tell a kid who has committed sorry you don't have a position anymore.

If we make it to Oct 30 and are 6-0 getting past USC,OU, AND OSU..... damn...... we better run the table after that stretch. He'd have to jump on board.... is be happy with 4-2 at that point.

We have 2 TEs already, so I think it says a lot that he chose us and not aggy.

From a more realistic standpoint I see us losing to USC & maybe OU

We beat ou, bank on it.  Mayfield sucks and so does ou.

I thought this was an interesting take on Brainiacs.  

Everyone is speculating on how many games this Texas team will win. I’ve personally changed my mind about this team’s ceiling on multiple occasions. We all have our opinions. But how about the guys who are closest to the team? How many wins does this Texas staff think they will win this year?

Ask anyone on the staff how many games they will win and without hesitation they will say, “10â€. I’ve been told that by so many people coming from so many directions that it’s safe to say that’s the staff’s target for this season.

When Herman came in offering out of state studs, I thought, this guy knows where he wants to be and with that mentality he will get there…in a year or two. But he got there…immediately.

When I first heard that Herman believes he will win “10 gamesâ€, I thought, with that mentality Herman will get there…in a year or two. But it seems, once again, he plans on getting where he wants to go…immediately. – (Super K)
