Are you sure? I thought that he was going to be a grey shirt, but due to the small class he got a regular schollie. I could be wrong, but that's how I remember it.

He was committed to LSU and agreed to come to UT as a grey shirt I believe to join his brother on the team. Schollies left over and he was given one right before NSD.
