2017 Recruiting Thread Part 1

Currently as of 12/12 Texas is not even showing up in the top 40 of recruiting rankings ....that is not good especially when you or The University of Texas. If we end up with a bad recruiting class I just do not see how that is ok .  Hopefully we see it get better come signing day, so I will wait and see.

Come on guys. Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

You can thank Mr. Strong for that if it happens.

Texas Tech's 2018 class suffered a big hit.
Four-star Euless Trinity defensive back Cam'ron Jones took to Twitter to announce that he has decommitted from the Red Raiders.

Jones originally committed to Texas Tech in June over offers from Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee State and UTSA. Oklahoma, Indiana and UCLA offered after he pledged to the Red Raiders.

At 6-foot, 187 pounds, Jones is ranked as the No. 20 safety in the country and No. 31 overall prospect in the state, according to 247Sports Composite.
Texas Tech is now down to four verbal commits in its 2018 class.

As I said before if you are expecting a great class his first class here then you should stop drinking the Kool-aid.  It wont happen.

Three years of mediocre football and stagnation with no improvement.

Getting back into the top 20 will bring in the recruits.
Good post!

Remember the Herman template that  he has used at each and every one of his head coaching stops:

1)  Have a year 1 on the field that well exceeds expectations.

2) After year 1 on the field, recruiting well exceeds expectations.

This first class, I look to fill gaps (see a kicker recruited from JUCO).  Look for some other JUCOs that have a chance to help on the field this year..... and several good athlete, long term projects.  The Deck is stacked too much against Coach H for a great class this year.  After this season on the field - watch recruiting take off!

If we go .500 in 2017 on the field, sound every alarm bell within your vicinity.

Word is that Little is not wearing an orange shirt today at school

He is in white

That is all

Kamren Curl: Texas offered Muskogee (OK) DB Kamren Curl last week. When we spoke with his father he said that they already had all 5 official visits planned, so he wasn’t sure if Kamren would visit Texas. Well here is the latest on Curl, he has taken tow official visits so far one to Nebraska in mid-November and one to TCU last weekend. After the dead period ends there will be three more weekend for Curl to take visits. That first weekend the plan is to visit Oklahoma, the following weekend he’ll visit Arkansas, then the plan was to visit Ole Miss the week before NSD. Now I was told that they may visit Texas that final weekend before NSD, so it’ll be either Texas or Ole Miss for the final visit. He wants to speak with both staffs some more after the dead period before making that decision. It will be something to keep an eye on with the talented out of state DB. – (Andrew)
