I will second SHA. Many thanks!

I didn't know whether to put this in the Baylor thread or this thread. Since it involves possibly adding to the 2016 recruiting class, maybe its best here.

First, ESPN reported this afternoon that Cobb has been denied by Baylor on the NLI thing. Cobb is the only one they mentioned so I don't know if they'll tell all of these kids no or what.

I spoke with my buddy who has become a little better connected on three particular Baylor defections. He tells me that it looks very good for Hudson to end up in Austin. Very good (assuming Baylor lets him go). Deverney (sp?) and Donovon, kinda up in the air. Texas has declined on the second part of that pair. Things can change, but right now we're not seriously considering the package deal. That may or may not continue to be a deal breaker for Deverney.

I get the impression staff is happy with our talent/depth at WR. Deverney must be looked at as a luxury and surely taking the second kid, with the DB depth we already have, would be difficult.

That really makes me feel good about whats on campus (and coming) at the WR position.

All signs seem to be pointing to Texas for Hudson if and when he gets a release from Baylor. It makes too much sense given how close Texas came to flipping him late in the cycle.

The Duvernay situation is interesting because Devin may be in a spot in which he may have to make a decision before Donovan gets released. At this point in the game, I think you take both him and his brother if you have the room.

It wouldn't hurt to take a gamble and take both the Duvernay bros. But,whats the deal with JP and I am ?

I posted this in the Baylor thread, but it applies to this convo...

Per Chip:

"I'm hearing BU football players who want their release are NOT going to be released to Big 12 schools.

Players will be able to appeal if that's how it plays out."

Are you serious??! They cannot be released to other Big 12 schools??? Oh yeah you gonna see all hell breaking loose on this one. It's a player's right on wherever they wanna go that's F##### BS

From a poster on HD:

Sounds like Baylor will remove recruiting ban, but not release NLI immediately unless school they choose is not in B12.

Removal of the recruiting ban – This means the recruiting ban is lifted, but the NLI penalty is still in effect if you do not fulfill the NLI.

NLI releases cannot be school-specific, like permission to contact. So you cannot be released to one school but not another. Because of this, many schools will first remove the recruiting ban, but may not grant a complete release until the school knows where an athlete plans to transfer.

Just a way for Baylor to drag feet to keep the signees away from B12. Otherwise, the signees have to appeal to NCAA which could take 4 to 8 weeks longer.

This will really help SOE, UH, SMU, LSU, and Tulsa recruit these 2016 Baylor signees because they get released sooner and can enroll ASAP since not in B12.

The chances of this happening are very unlikely IMO. If this were the case the recruiting ban would have already been lifted.

Baylor isn't dragging the process out to screw Big 12 teams, they are doing it to try and salvage their '16 recruiting class.

The amount of PR blow back Baylor would get from this would also be disaster. Essentially, Baylor would be saying "find which schools you are interested in so we can delay you from going there." Baylor will be ripped to pieces if they try this.

Regardless, I'm not that worried about it. Hudson is the prize and he's on record in saying that he wouldn't mind RS, so there's really no pressure to make a quick decision.
