Before we start trashing these young men let's be honest... We were all very happy to have them, I/you remember reading the boards and seeing the rankings. They came into a culture that didn't help them. At the end of the day they are Longhorns and still part of the team.Speaking of Seniors...look at this underwhelming list of Seniors going into Next Year.

So sick of Stanford... Jim Harbaugh may have trouble recruiting Texas kids to Michigan but his protege sure doesn't have Trouble recruiting Texas kids to Stanford.Had a conversation with my buddy and probed his mind for recruiting nuggets and info nuggets in general. The following is what I harvested.
1. We lead for the two best backs in the state. One almost committed to us on the evening of NSD. That one is supposed to go down right after or during camp. Benjamin will get a formal offer at camp.
2. The two recruits from Episcopal . . Little and Wilson . . despite the warm and fuzzies about these two, there is ground to make up with both. In fact, one is pretty zeroed in on Stanford right now and the other is leaning to Bama. Both of Little's parents are UT grads, btw. Apparently, a good impression was not made by Charlie. One attended a camp here some time ago and apparently was unrecognized, despite being a 6'7, 290 lb sophomore. Little is the top OL in Texas and Wilson the top DL. We certainly have time to do what needs to be done.
3. Hines and Browning really like us, but don't expect a commit from either, soon. Both want to see what we'll be about come fall.
4. On the RB coaching front, the only name he knew that we'd contacted was former UT running back Anthony Johnson. He said there will be 2-3 more interviewed.
Yep, happens every year. After NSD, all you read is how good that year's signing class is. Lot of sunshine pumping is par for the course. Before we start trashing these young men let's be honest... I think its just a matter of time before he jumps on board.Hamm just CB'd Dobbins to Texas! He must really think we pick up his commitment soon! Maybe at UT's Junior day?
Higs yesterday:
"Couple of guys from Toledo, one prior one currently. Ayeni is a great guy. Both are great people from what I've been told. AJ clearly has the Texas ties etc...all the coaching stuff should be played out and finished this month for sure"
- re: 2016 class "I'm 100% done with the class of 2016. Unless it's a Texas kid and it's a grades issue"
- thinks Texas will be the front runner w/ Browning and Hines
- aTm is going to be in "desperation mode" this cycle (even more than last cycle if you can imagine it)
- does not think Texas takes 2 QB this cycle
- TE Brock Wright is "very happy where he is" (for those who are unaware, he wants to go to out of state and ND is evidently his dream school. he has been committed to ND since 6/26/16)
- re: Toneil Carter "I will say, as of now no chance"
- "will find out" about staff addressing kicker
- it will be a "long process" with regard to Marvin Wilson
- re: Anthony Johnson (current Toledo RB coach) and Louis Ayeni (former Toledo RB coach, at Iowa State)
"AJ will have an interview on Tuesday"
I dont he is slow, cant cover, plays for interception and hence gets burned alot. He had a few ints but he had alot more blown plays giving up TD's.I know people love Haines
To hold off what's coming he needs to get faster, stronger, smarter, more instinctive......never mind. Brandon Jones will take over a safety spot at some point next season. I think he's listed at a 4.5 forty but his "game speed" is unreal. Unbelievable ball instincts and he will bring the wood. Our secondary is going to be "sick" the next few years. (my son said sick means really good)I dont he is slow, cant cover, plays for interception and hence gets burned alot. He had a few ints but he had alot more blown plays giving up TD's.
