2017 Recruiting Thread Part 1

Higdon was right about WDE Robert Beal. According to ND insider Tom Loy, Beal decommited from his "dream school" because his sister could not get accepted to Notre Dame. Since they are out of the picture, Beal has a top 5, in which Texas is the leader. To quote Loy:“They have done a tremendous job recruiting Robert since offering last summer,†said a source. “He has a great relationship with Charlie Strong and the two had a really long, impactful conversation after he decommitted from Notre Dame.â€

Watched Robert Beal's hudl, he is 30 pounds away from being an All-American. Would love to have him on the 40.

Dylan Moses still mentions Texas as a top school in this interview

No. 1 recruit Moses knows when he wants to decide

I know it's still a ways out, but I think the Longhorns have a strong shot with Dylan.  Alabama seems to be the leader, but I think Moses has a good relationship with Malik (big brother type) and  he respects Charlie strong a lot.  Listening to his interview and hearing him talk about family atmosphere (something like that) and being part of a great defense is what he is looking for made me think he his legitimately taking a close look at Texas.  Also, him mentioning Texas first of his top schools during that interview was interesting because that means Texas is at least on the top of his mind.  Still a long way to go and  Texas needs to win this year, but he is an early enrollee so at least we won't have to wait until February for him

It's funny because Robert Beal goes to Norcross high school which is in the same 7AAAAAAA football division that my former high school is in

Beal is a monster and a consensus top 50 recruit. He is 19th in espn, 17th in 247, and 51 in rivals I believe. He very well could be a 5 star once all the camps and all-star games subside. A little on the light side, but he is the real deal. If Texas landed them he would be in the utmost rung of commitments with the Okudah, Wilson, and Browning's of the world.
