2016 recruiting

I really wish they would not allow kids to commit until after the previous years NSD. These early commitments have gotten crazy. One or two schools start getting commitments from juniors and sophomores, other schools have to follow are risk getting behind. I would like to possible see a second signing day as well. Maybe sign 10-12 that come in in the fall semester and 10-12 that come in in the spring semester. Just saying.......

Reckon this thread will have as many posts this time next year as does the 2015 thread?

I don't want to read too much into anything, but Greg Little did not show up for Texas A&M Junior Day. Already committed there, no reason to go probably.

What do any of you think an early signing period would do to the numbers that commit early?

Target Jeffrey McCulloch told me yesterday he had a "great" time at A&M junior day this past weekend. Cal offered him this morning.

Still thinking Texas is the one to beat here.

Garland and I are working on finalizing the 2016 top 50. I'll give you some early teaser thoughts.

Quarterback doesn't have a true star prospect but several interesting ones. I like Hurt, Sterling-Cole, and Buechele

The top position group is probably safety with three studs at the position. Deontay Anderson, Eric Monroe, and Brandon Jones are all dynamic defensive talents.

Receiver is a deep position this year with a lot of big bodied guys and electric speed threats.

Offensive line is top heavy with two monster prospects but it isn't a terribly deep position.

Running back is interesting but like quarterback has no true star standout. There are guys who are electric like Kam Martin but not quite complete, and there are complete guys who don't have the electricity.

Defensive end is deep but again there's no one there that has the first step that will blow you away.

I believe we will be debuting the 2016 rankings on signing day so stay tuned.

I am just about ready for 2016 recruiting....just give me about another week to start.......#LetsRide

I decided I liked Argyle Liberty Christian QB Nick Starkel (6'4, 185) today. Had him in the database based off his Elite 11 appearance, saw his kid film, actually played really well and grew a lot since last season. Completed around 66 percent of his passes, did not play the whole year. Would have been a 4,000-yard guy probably had he played a full season. Probably will not be considered a Texas fit, but he is a solid prospect. I still like Jalen Hurts at No. 1 for the moment and then there is a logjam behind him. And the TCU commit transferred to San Angelo Central from Marble Falls.
