2016 Recruiting - Week #7-14

I'd like to hear your thoughts on this.. you are a coach right?  Curious, are there better options or is he lacking.  I don't keep up that much with recruiting and would love to hear your take.  Thanks!
While he is a huge guy and I don't think he is bad by any means I just think there are a good deal of players that can be as good as him. He will be a kid that needs a lot of work because he struggles with athletic DEs.

Dude looks 28 to me (we may need to do some Ron Weaver due diligence)

Wescott is the worst. I said this a while back, Texas needs to go out of state for this O-line recruiting class. Other than Hudson and Little there's very little talent in Texas IMO. I think the mid range 3 star ranking for the Anderson twins is about right.  To give you perspective. Connor Williams, Brandon Hodges, Garrett Thomas, Patrick Vahe, and Ronnie Major are all higher rated (per 247) than the Anderson twins. Like I said, there's not much talent on the O-line in Texas. Best to look out of state.

missing out on owens was a bigger deal than the anderson twins....
Yep.

Other than Little and Hudson I just don't think there's much talent in Texas this year on the O-line. I actually think Diesch might be the 3rd most talented O-lineman in the state. Anderson Twins, Urquidez and even Delance are meh to me (and I think we actually have a decent shot to land Delance when it's all said and done).

Offensive line is hard to project but I think a mid 3 star ranking for the Anderson Twins is about right. I hope we look out of state.

Yes. a&m. Today.
So we got out recruited for a couple of three star OL guys...I can live with that. Is Florida strong with OL talent or mainly skill guys? Always hear about the skill guys, but not much about the OL talent.

I have absolutely no problem with reaching in to the JUCO ranks for talented OL next year as with last season. If that's what it takes I'm good with that.

It's going to be interesting how many O-line we take. The more I look at the numbers I think we may only take 3 this cycle. Several recruiting guys think we are only taking 20 commits this year (sounds about right to me, maybe a couple more). Just a guess but this is what I'm thinking.

QB-2
RB-1
TE/FB-2
WR-3
OL-3

DL-4
LB-2
Safety-1
CB-2

Looking at the offensive line. After this year, we will have 13 O-lineman on scholarship. Say we take 4 more in the '16 class that will get us at 17 scholarship O-lineman. Unless there's attrition I just can't see us taking more than 3 or 4 in the '16 class. 18 o-lineman on scholarship seems excessive, but I'm not real sure how many o-lineman are normally on scholarship.

SRs (Doyle, Flowers, Hutchins)
JRs (Hughes, Hodges, Perkins)
SO (James, Nickelson, Raulerson)
FR (Thomas, Rodriguez, Anderson, Williams, Cuney, Vahe, Major)

4-30-15

Texas Offers Duncanville DT Marcel Southall. Though unranked, this kid's received offers from Baylor, ou, Illinois, TEXAS, and Texas Tech in the last 10 days.
