The above article's source is Irvin Smith's HS coach. It's called talking up schools because you want more of your players to get offered.  

There's nothing to see here IMO.

Texas is the Tide's competition here and Smith's teammate and good friend Peyton Aucoin is a Longhorn commit. Smith's parents, however, have given him their blessing to pull the trigger for Alabama so Saban has an opportunity to really wrap things up here if his visit goes well this week.

I cant believe Mrs. Aucoin is letting me down like this.  I was singing her praises just last week

I still think that is the safe bet. But you can never count Saban out.

That Bama update is every update you see at this time of the year. Parents blessing, priority, and so on. The Bama site doesn't even say Smith is leaning Bama's way. If you go read the other updates from Bama's 247 site, almost every update reads the exact same. 

Which is why the Bama mods haven't CBed Smith to Bama. You can figure out what content is fluff and what content isn't fluff by watching the CBs. If the Bama mods thought Smith was headed to Bama they would CB him to Bama.
