I can not say what does or does not happen from time to time. I personally know for a fact of two instances (not at Texas) in the past one being from the player side that I knew personally and was from an alumni that was my relative. Money and gifts are given but not at the rate some would like people to believe. I would say it is fairly rare. If it was rampant like the aggies are claiming about Texas or Texas folks claim about the SEC it would be incredibly risky. Actually too risky. A program would be one disgruntled player away from a full blown SMU death penalty scenario.

Not when everybody has something on everybody.

We've seen the disgruntled players before. ESPN has done big shpills on them. The last one I can remember was on Alabama and some kids that Saban had chased off. What resulted was more or less a character assassination on the kids to discredit them.

Cases like Albert Means show the seedy underbelly of the SEC. Remember how many SEC were competing for that kid. Remember how many of them got into trouble?

Seems we're not going to take a RB in 2016? 

1. Our depth chart doesn't help us, particularly with the better backs

2. This wasn't that great of a year for RBs in Texas HS. Next year should be better.

3. We can afford to skip a year with Tristan Houston coming off a redshirt. We have talented, valuable depth.

I really hope so but do you guys think that when Texas gets back to the top it won't hurt Baylor and TCU? I mean seriously Texas and Oklahoma can't keep the Big 12 Relevant forever without help from other teams constantly growing and competing with and beating teams outside the big 12

Awesome. The biggest problem I have with the whole narrative is Texas fans think everyone is doing it but us.. I have no doubt things are going on at other places but lets not pretend Texas is not playing the game as well.
